Spotted a New Horizons in Rapid City

When I left friend Paul at his place in Hart Ranch in Rapid City, I noted a New Horizons rig (vintage pre Phil). I went out of my way to see if there might be a door open. No luck. So I went on my way.

New Horizons in Rapid City

We had planned to have our New Horizons #303 in Rapid City right now, but we are enjoying the Truckee/Lake Tahoe area so much we haven't moved on. We are parked in a small RV camp called Base Camp Deli and RV about 7 miles east of Truckee, and this time of year is perfect in every way. Weather is hinting at autumn, tourists are gone home, very little traffic wherever you go.

We will be leaving here this Thursday heading east to Bristol, WI, so maybe we'll see you all along the way.

We stayed at Tahoe Forest campground on the Truckee River; fantastic location (and HALF price, with Golden Age Passport) just off Hwy-89, about 2 miles south of the I-80 freeway! (We left for PHX just before Labor Day, lost A/C in the truck from Las Vegas to PHX -- due to a hole in the condenser!)

Cheers!

Tahoe Forest Campground

We are considering staying In the Tahoe Forest CG for a couple of weeks next summer. We drove through last Thursday to see if there were big enough spots for us. That would be a great place to be camp host as well.

Currently we are heading east on I80 (which I might add was smooth as silk between Reno and Winnemucca), parked at a KOA in Lyman, WY over the weekend and in Cheyenne, WY tonight. Goal is Bristol, Wisconsin until the end of October then south again. Hope to see some of you out there.

Nice to know we weren't the only NH in the west!
