Hello! My wife and I have been following the information that all of you have posted in this forum in reguards to the Cougar High Country 321RES and have found it very interesting and helpful. We are first time RVers and are really interested in the Cougar 321RES. We went through one briefly earlier this month and hope to be able to purchase one by next spring.
After walking through many trailers we were impressed with the fiberglass exterior and the roomy floor plan. Towing will be no problem because we have a Chevy 3500HD Crew Cab with a Duramax turbo-Diesel.
A question I have is can anyone tell me the overall length from trailer tounge to rear bumper?

I just went outside and measured mine and it measures 35 feet 3 inches from the tip of the tongue to the back bumper. Hope this helps!

Thanks, Jimmie2....I'd be interested in knowing if it works. I was thinking about putting caulking around the inside of the frame of the cargo door but decided that since we're taking it back to the dealer in Indiana in 2 weeks....I'll see if they can fix it. But just in case....I'd still like to know if your idea works.

Thank you Jimmie2 for checking on the length of the trailer. I wasn't sure that I could rely on the specs in the Cougar High Country brochures. I wanted to know so that I could see if it would fit in my garage. It's nice to have dry storage in these Ohio winter months.

Must be nice to have a garage to keep an RV in. I have the luxury of keeping it next to my house, but the Florida summer sun will eventually take its toll.

If anyone knows someone shopping for a 321, send them my way. Found a new toy to take with us and may be looking to move to a toyhauler. With the 4k price increase, I can save someone lots of $$$.

You made me go check out their website.
They also have a new floorplan in a trailer (not as nice).

Man, there was some really nice toy haulers at the Hershey show last month. There was a couple of small 5vr's that had a nice rear area that the ramp became a raised patio.

We have a 2012 321RES and our doesn't have the black sides on the slide out. I check out the website you recommended....ugh! I don't like the black....that would have canceled the deal. Ours was made in May of this year so they must have just changed the color in the last few months.

Agreed. That would have canceled the deal for us too!

Hello,
We have just ordered our 2012 Cougar HC 321res and have a few questions for anyone out there that has this unit. We have traded in our 2007 Jayco Eagle 328rls...so the size of the trailer is comparable, other than it is about 700lbs dry weight heavier and has a full length Queen bed...which is actually one of the main reasons we were looking.
There are a few things that I will miss with the Eagle...my RVQ! It seemed ridiculous to us when we bought the Jayco that it had a BBQ that attached to the side of the trailer and connected to the propane with a quick connect. But...it has actually been very convenient and fast when travelling...and I don't want to give it up! Is there such a BBQ for the Cougar? I also saw on line that on a lot of the Keystone trailers there is a slide out utility/bike rack at the back bumper. Does anyone know if the 321 has this? It would be great to not have to attach our bike rack as well.
Now I can't wait for next May...so that we can try out our new unit.
Thanks!
