I will be getting my Cougar ready for next week's camping trip and will get you those measurements tomorrow. Trailer sits right next to the house so will not be a problem.

We keep our unit up in N Ark. during the summer, it is just too hot in LA to camp during June-Aug we have two AC units and its nice INSIDE, but misserable out. So we take it to the ozarks and park it up there. Looking to get a barn built and I need to know how WIDE it is when its fully opened.

OK Marty here ya go...

The kitchen slide is 143 3/8" wide, 21 5/8" deep and 88" high

The dinette slide is 149 3?8" wide, 35 5/8" deep and 88" high

The bedroom slide is 72 1/2" wide, 35 5/8" deep and 70 5/8" high

So there ya have it...hope this helps you out!

Ok, back to getting ready for camping trip this week!

Well, the process is complete. Thanks to everyone's input and support, we decided on the 321. In prior posts I had questions about buying used vs new and prices. Well, we decided to buy new in the end and were ready to sign on a 2013 in Walnut Ridge but it sold hours before we made our deposit

Our local dealer came to the table (without knowing what else was going on) and came very close to the Walnut Ridge price but on a 2014. The price difference ended up being about the same as my costs would have been to get to Walnut Ridge. Strange in fact how close it was.

We did purchase the 12k Equalizer hitch thanks to everyones input. Dealer wanted us to go with a Reese. I'll be pulling this with my 2009 F-150. It works, but definately would be nice to have a 250 or 350 instead. Clocked the 1hr trip from the dealer at 8mpg! I think I could actually see the gas guage dropping!

We were shocked at how large the outside felt when towing. Now have to learn how to drive such a long vehicle without removing the corners of other cars and sidewalks.

Anybody have any suggestions on extension mirrors? I was looking at K-Source and CIPA Custom. Sure would be nice to be able to see around the Queen Mary.

In the end, we LOVE the layout and room size that this unit delivers and are looking forward to our first trip soon.

Thanks again for eveyones input. I'm sure I'll be back looking for all of your expert advice.

Congratulations! You'll love your 321res. We also tow with a 2010 F-150 (with tow package) and the Equalizer. It does ok but we'll never make it to the high Colorado mountains : )

TNILES, you will DEF need some extention mirrors!

My Tundra came with them in the towing pakage and I couldnt imagine towing this with out them for it is long!

I myself also got a Hensly hitch, made a world of differance

Tim welcome to the site. Some real great folks on here with some supper info about these trailers.
We are fairly new to the forum ourselves with just having bought a used 2012 321 res this past April. Been to Florida with it and just got back from Colorado, about 3000 miles round trip. Had a great trip did hit some serious wind on the way out. We pull with a 2006 dodge ram 2500 quad cab 5.9 diesel and also have the equalizer hitch. We did encounter some tail wagging not to bad but enough for me that I found from pullrite a 20000 hitch for about half price, so when it gets here, on it will go. I did pull with a pullrite back in the 90's and really loved it. Between Florida and Colorado we got 14 and 15 mpg. very pleased with that. If anyone has pulled this trailer with a pullrite let me know what you think. We do not have to remove the oem hitch and the spare tire stays in place. Will have to do something with the tail pipe and no drilling at all. Pullrite said it is custom made for the truck.

well after reading what everybody had to say I made up my mind to purchase a different brand trailer went with the Grand Design in the 369RL had it for 3 weeks now and love it

I don't understand your post. You buy a 5th wheeler that has no windows on the street side of the living area and you're comparing that purchase to a nice slick multi window 3 slide Cougar trailer??
This thread is about the Cougar 321RES trailers. We love out 2014 321RES. Had it on three trips so far and everyone who's been in it says what a beautiful rig. This year the frameless windows are standard and they really make the sides look sleek.

I know what the thread is about, I read all of the pages, and because I read all of these pages I began to second guess myself on wanting one. When we went to the RV show we wanted to compare the Cougar 321RES to the Denali 278RE both have the exact same floor plan, only difference is the Denali is 8" longer and comes with a king instead of a queen. Neither trailer was at the show so I just started looking at all of them, and when you start looking at 5th wheels you'll find they have a lot more to offer than a pull trailer. Before you start dumping on what I bought you may want to go look at one.
