Exclamation New To This - Help! Bullet 269RLS/Camping World

I am new to this forum and to forums all together. I am not a social media person. So, please bear with me. I am from Indiana so please - do not judge me or hate on me - I need help and I will be this will stir things up but here it goes .....

Info, tips, complaints, suggestions, etc on the subject of/and/or -- New Keystone Bullet / Camping World! **(warranty/repair/timeframe/customer service/technicians)

Well that didn't make much sense to me. What issues are you having and what type of help do you need. we can't help if we are confused as to what you need.

Camping World sucks.....my opinion...will take your money, but can't always produce what you bought even when they're having a sale....

Be advised, any question on an RV Forum involving “Camping World” typically yields objective and subjective results. Often difficult the discern the difference.

Welcome to the forum.

You are joining a good group of folks here with good information to share. Read the various threads here and ask questions as they come up or add information if you can. Most here will probably tell you to avoid purchasing at Camping World.

The best suggestion is to start asking individual questions in either the travel trailer or Thor forums. Don’t be afraid to ask as many questions as you need to. You’ll get plenty of responses.

The Mrs and I are former Hoosiers so we won't hold that against you! Both of us were born and raised in Wabash County in Northern Indiana. Soon after we married I joined the Air Force in 1970 and we spent the next 20+ years hopscotching around the country, eventually settling in Alaska. We go back now and then for visits, but there isn't much left to draw us back for good.

One good thing for you is that there are many, many RV manufacturers in and around Indiana. We highly recommend taking factory tours once in a while. Very informative and enlightening! And if you didn't know already, there is a RV Museum and Hall of Fame in Elkhart that is also a very good place to visit.

Sorry to you all for any misleading thoughts - quick scenario, bought new 2019 end of season bullet 269rls from CW Richmond - kept there for rest of season with cover on it all winter, brought it home hour and half away in April so we could 'redesign' a bit before our first outing in June and over July 4th. All was ok. few issues. didn't rain hardly any! Came home - decided to do some 'major' redesigning inside (kind of) - took out booth carefully to sell it, moved couch/sleeper down to booth location. bought 2 new wall hugger recliners to put in place of original location of couch/sleeper. we made a kit table with 2 benches and placed it as you walk in door to left by BIG window where recliners originally were. Among doing this reno, we noticed a bit of 'bubbling' if you will on the main slide out wall between the windows that went towards the floor. We, at first, were going to 'cover' the bubbles per say with large wall tiles made from pvc which were light and i was going to add trim above them to make it look like that is how it came to hide the screw holes in the wall from the booth removal. instead, i investigated a bit, noticed it was kind of 'spongy' on the wall. not good. peeled back the 'wall covering' and noticed there was a lot more damage than i thought. but ... we had a long trip planned to Maine that we couldn't 'not do' so we decided to use it as it is, noted the damage and since it's still under warranty, we'll deal with repair once back and get it right before our BIG trip in January for several months. so, we went. not hardly any rain (good thing) during this time, so once back, we noted several other small things to get fixed (as we were told was 'Normal' with new units - shouldn't be though - too much money and THEY ARE NEW!) but ok. Took it to dealer 2 days after we got back and that is where it has sat since. It's been since August 21st and we've been back and forth with CW and Keystone -CW keeps dropping the ball - over and over. I'm over it. I just want our unit back done properly and to be treated AS PROMISED when we bought it! Whew - there ya go! Sorry to make things difficult! (I hate explaining and typing) lol

Question Any Advice?

So, i replied to my original post to explain what all i was talking about and didn't hear anything back. maybe i'm not doing this right? I basically want to know how long is too long for camping world to have our rig making repairs, constantly adding to it when it should have been found and done in the first place and I am the one who points out what was to be done? I just dont know what to do at this point. CW blames Keystone but in all honesty, it is Camping World that doesn't have their stuff together, in my opinion.

# 1 CW doesn't have much of a reputation. Especially when it comes to warranty work.
#2 The RV market has gone crazy lately ( blame covid I guess ) As you already noted dealers are overwhelmed with warranty repairs because the new units all have issues when they are delivered. Many owners don't own a screwdriver much less know how to use one. More units sold without a corresponding increase in service capabilities equals a backlog. Add to that a decrease in available parts ( again, blame covid )
It appears that you have 2 options. Leave the unit with CW until it is fixed or go pick it up and fix it yourself. Understand that CW is probably not having any better luck getting trained, conscientious help than anyone else is.

I have had my own CW bad experience. But I have learned better now. Your best option is call Keystone and fully explain you problem and request ( soft demand) for factory repair. I purchased three new Class A's in 41 months. The first one from from CW and they had my RV or waiting for parts for longer than I had it in the first year. Took it to factory repair and they fixed it all in two days. Second RV independent dealer was able to fix 80% then to factor repair for the rest. On the third Class A factory repair was a top priority in the purchase decision. It sometimes takes a while to get it in the shop but it is fixed correctly and quickly. Now I will only take factory for coach issues and the chassis makes for the rest. Experience is sometimes painful to acquire, but worth it. You have a serious problem and it must be brought directly to the factory's attention.
