I need to talk to the wife about that. Getting together with family to celebrate the Pilgrims isn't exactly the most important event on my list. Most her family is over 60.

Thanksgiving update October 17, 2020
We are continuing plans for the gathering despite the troubling times. We will be meeting with the Chef to finalize the dinner plans and the use of the room for gatherings.
Please remember that the time to make reservations is fast approaching. The cutoff date is November 1, 2020. After this date we must turn in the reserved sites, and you will not be guaranteed a site with the group.
Carolina Pines RV Resort direct telephone number is 843-896-0700. If you get the Sun Resorts Reservation Center ask to be routed to Carolina Pines RV Resort. They will have no knowledge of the local arrangements.
Our Rally is listed as Carolina Campers, so refer to that when making reservations. Deposit is for two nights or 50% if staying longer than 4 nights. Balance due at check in. (No Checks please)
Note: Horry County, S.C. has a mandatory mask regulation.
There will be a necessary change in our normal format this year. The main room we used last year will not be available for Saturday night. We will have its use on Friday night and Sunday night. We would like to know the groups preference for the dinner to be held on Friday night or Sunday night. Please let us know. We realize some need to leave on Sunday so please take that into consideration.
Arrival day, Thursday night, weather permitting, plan on the normal cook out at a site, bring your own favorite to grill, and your favorite sides. Due to Covid we cannot share sides. Grills provided; you can cook or have it cooked for you.
One night, depending, we can gather in the big room for any item you wish to order from the Bistro. We have requested the same Waitress as last year, (Colleen)
More to follow after we meet with the Chef.

catered meal

If okay with the others my choice would be Friday night for the catered meal.

Unfortunately, Dan and Dolly Daniel must cancel for this year. Hope you all have a great rally.

We will miss those having to drop out. We understand health concerns are very important. If its possible we too think Friday night would be the preferred night for the catered meal. We wouldn't want anyone coming to have to miss out on it that might be leaving Sunday.

On the advice of my Oncologist we have decided to cancel out of this year’s Thanksgiving get together for health reasons.

We hope everyone stays safe and enjoys the get together, and we hope we’re able to catch up with everyone in the spring.

Carolina Campers, November Rally

Sunday October 25, 2020
With the Covid Pandemic gripping the world and causing many of us to modify our lives, we had hoped the annual Thanksgiving Rally could be held as usual. Well it will be and regrettably without some of our friends. Understandably some have had to cancel. The attendance has reduced but the Facility will work with us to enjoy our gathering.
Meeting with the Food and Beverage Manager, we worked the menu for FRIDAY night. Dinner will be served in the dining room at 6:00PM. Choice of Turkey or Ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, cranberry, iced tea, coffee. Desert pumpkin crisp or apple crisp. The cost for dinner is $18.95 each including tax. Full bar beverages available if wanted. The waitress assigned to the room will take all orders. The cost of the dinner does not include gratuity, and as like last year we handled individually.
We must have a complete count for the dinner by November 5, 2020 for the Manager to order the required food .Please let us know by that date your choice of Turkey or Ham and Pumpkin or Apple Crisp.
Social distancing will be followed, Presently 4 to a table of 8. Masks required in the building.
They will make a room available for us in the building Saturday night for game playing or just gathering. We must remember that a wedding will be going on at that time with an expected guest list of 100 people.
Sunday night we can gather and order from the bistro menu or pizza along with beverages from the bar.
The Resort has cottages available. If you have friends that would be interested in coming let them know. Reservations can be made directly with the Campground.
Remember the last day for Rally rates is November 1, 2020. We must turn the reserved sites back to the Camp Ground.

One ham one turkey one crisp one pumpkin ... we share with each other anyway.

There’s always Popeyes down by Ocean lakes, and a Walmart ...

Jpal Received and noted, Thank you. Looking forward to it.

Have you registered for a site at the Camp Ground? If not please remember to contact them directly at the number posted (843-896-0700). we are in the "C" section. The registration period closes on November 1, after that date you might not be placed with the group

Carolina Pines has a policy that early arrivals are charged an extra $25.00. Schedule your arrival around 1:00 PM to avoid this ridicules charge.
We spoke with the office and a women told us it is not enforced, but please be advised it could be.
