Spring fever - CG on lakes

Been looking at campgrounds and trying to pick some on or near water, any suggestions? Been to Bandits Roost near Wilksboro, Cascade Lake near Brevard, Falls Lake, Jordan Lake, Kerr Lake. Once it gets hot, I'm more likely to go to the mountains than the beach. Usually do a spring trip to the Outer Banks, have a few CGs there I haven't tried. Looking at a campground on Lake Lure, High Rock Lake, Lake Norman. I'll post when and where I'm headed, late April most likely will be my first outing.

Stone Mountain and Lake Lanier in Georgia are both nice places and not to far to travel.

Hi Jimmy! We went to High Rock Lake CG a few years ago and it was okay. In the summer we went to Buck Creek CG in Marion. All sites are on the creek and you can fish and swim. One we want to get back to was in Franklin, NC. Cullasaja River CG. Alot of Florida folks summer there, but they were friendly and we really enjoyed it there. We will be at Mt. Pleasant/Charleston KOA this summer working. The campground is on a lake and close to the ocean and historic Charleston. Did you get a new camper yet? Hope to see you again soon.
