Brenda and Frank we will be neighbors.

A bad start to our new Phaeton 36gh. Went to RV World of Georgia last weekend and all went well. Spent one night hooked up on their lot and found a few minor issues they fixed the next morning. Camped one night in Gaffney on the way home and all was well until the last 200 yds. A friend of mine has a farm in Smithfield and said we could leave it in front of his rental house until we get our trees cleared. Turning into his driveway I clipped a mail box (badly) and then he had low overhanging trees lining the driveway which scraped the paint on both sides. It was dark so I haven't been on the roof yet, that's today's project, to see what damage was done up top. I should have visited his property before to check it out like I did at home. I found a place in Durham, Commercial Refinishers, that looks like they should be able to repair the damage. They said with a new RV they should be able to match paint exactly and they have done some Tiffin work. I saw a place in Benson also, but haven't talked to them. Does anyone have a favorite RV body and paint shop they have used or can recommend.

We love the Phaeton and it drives great. It may still look beat up when we show up next month, but that is surely not something that is likely to happen again.

NC Driver's License question. Been doing some reading and it looks like Becky and I need a Class B non commercial license to drive our Phaeton, GVWR 35,320, in NC. looks like my regular license is only good up to 26,001 GVWR. Has anyone done this?

Yes, picked up commercial book read it that day. Next day took test, had a really nice examiner who did the walk around and had me drive about three miles. Done. Now all of this was done in a small town😊

Thanks Bob and Tugboat, I looked at the NC General Statutes and an RV is defined as a passenger vehicle. But our Phaeton is well over the 26,001 limit for a Class C license. The back of my license says "Any noncommercial single vehicle with a GVWR of less than 26,001 pounds." Confusing to say the least. I will call DMV on Monday. Bob

Since this is only our second Carolina Campers rally, we are wondering if there is usually a pot luck dinner one night like last time? Also wondering how many are staying over until Monday?

Usually there is a pot luck, but depending on weather, it might not work out. Not sure if we have a room to meet in. Frank and I are staying til Monday morning.
