Not sure about history of just 2004 38DS04, but, I have a 2003 40DS02 and a friend has a 2003 38DS03 and both of us have had the Cross Bracing done. Travel Supreme used All Spartan Chassis for their 38 and 40 footers and i have read many stories regarding windshield problems on TS without the cross bracing.

Usually it is the longer ones that need the X bracing, 40'+. Ours is a 2002 38' TS and we do not have or need the bracing.

Although I'm sure it would be a good addition for any size MOHO, it doesn't appear to be a significant problem on the smaller rigs. I've had no windshield problems with mine and have driven over a few curbs and parked on many unlevel sites over the past 4 years.
