Air Tank Drain Maintenance

I am the original owner of a 2003 38DSO4 and several years ago added the gray, green, and red lines to the moisture ejectors on the air tanks. After the last visit to Spartan, I was told that the lines were hooked to the wrong valves.
The tank on the driver's side has two ejectors, one for the wet/supply tank and system 1 (primary system) tank. Does anyone know which end of the split tank is the wet tank and which is the supply tank. Once I figure that out, I can move the lines to control the ejectors in the correct sequence.

Thanks in advance...

Jay

They were kind enough to point that out to but, not correct it?

The end with the purge valve will be the "wet" end and on mine I believe it is the aft end of the tank.

Look at the tank for a weld seem around it. The shorter end is the wet tank.

You may also be able to follow the air dryer line to the wet tank.

For all it matters, just pull each one occasionally. Any more then a few drops of water or oil is a concern.

JayHill,

You probably by now have figured out what to do but in case you haven't here are some documents that might be of help to you and others that I just happen to come across the other day. I hope this helps you and others determine how and what to do with their Air Leveling system as well as the Air Tank system.

This should help. If you follow the procedure for draining the air system tanks checking the air gauges after you pull each lanyard will help identify the tanks. Then, if necessary you can relocate lanyards as necessary.

Thanks Robert for the update. This is great information to have and I’m hoping that I never have to reference the material any time soon.
