Anyone replaced passenger side built in desk with a sofa??

Hi,

I'm looking at a 2004 TS 40DS03 that has a built in desk right behind the front passenger seat. Has anyone removed this and put in a sofa/love seat?

Thanks,
Jeff

We just sold our 2004 40DS04 that came with the desk when we purchased in in 2018. We took out the desk and found a 2 section sofa (more of a love seat) to put in it's place. I don't remember the exact measurements but you can figure that out.

I added a sofa foot in between the front and rear foot on each side that would keep the sofa sitting on the slide as it came in. We had to remove the driver's seat and driver's window to install the new sofa. Which isn't too big of a deal.

It was worth it as people could sit across from each other to visit, especially while traveling.

Hi Bryan,

Can you explain a little more your statement, "I added a sofa foot in between the front and rear foot on each side that would keep the sofa sitting on the slide as it came in."?
I don't understand what this means. I appreciate your help.
Jeff

Sure Jeff,

The sofa we ordered had 4 feet. Two in front and two in back. The sofa was deep enough that the front feet sat off the slide floor, which is about 2" or so higher than the main floor. So we added two more feet (or support blocks) under the sofa, just at the edge of the slide floor so that the sofa wouldn't tip forward. The 4 feet on the slide floor were shorter than the 2 front feet and had to be a couple inches shorter. Easy Peasy
