Awning - Eclipse - outside switch non-functional

Awning - Eclipse - outside switch non-functional.

Sort of sums up my problem, the outside switch on my Eclipse awning will no longer direct the awning, either out or in.

Checked the switch appears fine - wondering if other have had this issue and if it might be in the interior switching connection to the outside switch?

Will go in and out using the interior switches in the front Cabinet.

Just checking to see if other have had this issue and have the "Easy Fix"

Thanks to all who help out,

2005 42 DSO4

Exactly what checks did you accomplish leading to the conclusion the switch is fine? My two switches, one on the controller box in the bay the other in the cabinet by the door, are wired in parallel. They are DPDT momentary contact switches. The 12v and ground are connected to the two momentary contacts and the motor to the center poles. Sounds like on of the motor leads to that bay switch is disconnected, either at the switch or a broken wire. Measure the voltage at the two momentary contact poles. It should show 12v on one and ground the other in one pair; and reverse at the other. If that's good, check that pushing each way puts the voltage to the center wires. And if that works, then there is a break between the switch and the awning motor. You can check the resistance on that pair which should be low as it's connected to the motor. Now, if you have a wind sensor system and that bay switch is on the sensor brain box, you'll have to did out that wiring diagram. Could be there sensor controller is overriding that switch.

Think this will be a fun Fall project,

Thanks for the thoughts - that makes it a little clearer. At least as to what to search for.
