Bad fuel or Bad / dirty injectors

Low fuel light on, left engine running, bought 75 gallons @ I-80 travel plaza, tank full. So when low fuel light is on I still had approximately 25 gallons in tank.
Back on the road and right away RV is missing, blowing blue, black & grey smoke. Runs ok at cruise but give it power and it's smoking. So I limp my way home 75 miles.
Changed fuel filters and I have dark fuel in the filters and some crud. So I guess I have bad fuel. Now what?
Do I drain all 80 / 90 gallons out and put in fresh fuel? Drop the tank and clean it? Or just drive it and make a few filter changes?
Could it be I had bad fuel in the bottom of my tank that got steered up when I added the 75 gallons?
Has anybody dropped their fuel tank and cleaned it, is it a big job?
Thanks
Glen

So I pumped out all fuel from tank and it looked ok. Didn't find any crap in tank. So put fuel back in and drove it. Running better but still smokes when starting out. Re-check fuel filter looks ok.
So do I need to remove and clean my injectors?

ENGINE ISL350 SERIAL 46425937 5.9 LITER

Anybody done that? Is there a manual that I can get for a guide to do the job and torque and spects.
I watched a few you tube videos? Is my engine the same as a Cummins 5.9 Dodge?
What do you think? How do I go about this?

Maybe. Have you checked the pump to see if it's running correctly? Before you try to dismantle and clean the injectors, you might try some Seafoam to see if that cleans things up.

I would add sea foam to the fuel and run a tank through. Sea Foam will clean out your injectors. Can be used in both gas or diesel engines.

It runs good going down the road, it's just when starting out the it smokes.
I'll try some Sea Foam and see what happens. Diesel Kleen is another product that is recommended
Thanks

Ran it today with 1oz of seafoam to 1 gallon as stated on can. It smokes as much or more than before. Is that because of the Seafoam in the fuel? Also engine would miss when I gave it the gas. Only drove about 20 miles.

Yes the seafoam will make it smoke more as it cleans all the gunk out. You'll have to run through several gallons of fuel before it cleans out the injectors.

Sorry didn't have time earlier to tell the story. My brother was having the same issue as you, while traveling to Florida for the winter. He stopped at a place and was going to have them clean the injectors. The mechanic said he be happy to do it but told my brother to try the seafoam first. So he added the seafoam to his tank. He told me at about half of a tank the engine stopped sputtering and ran fine. Saved some money that day thanks to a good mechanic. And he's been sold on seafoam every since.

I had a gas generator that would only run if the choke was on full. I added seafoam to the gas tank and left it run with the choke on. After a little while I could open the choke up about halfway after another hour or so it ran fine like it should with the choke off. Saved me from rebuilding the carb.

I run a tank full with seafoam a couple times a year through all my vehicles as preventative maintenance.

So I hope it works for you

Ok thanks.
I also drained out all the fuel I bought at the Plaza and put in fresh.
On the Seafoam site they say "Use 100% Sea Foam for diesel injector cleaning machines or when priming diesel fuel filters" so I'm going to dump the filters again to see what the fuel looks like and then prime with 100% Seafoam.
There are only the 2 fuel filters in the system right?
Thanks

Injector

WHAT I DID WITH FUEL & FUEL FILTERS
Low on fuel (fuel light on) filled up at truck stop with engine running, took 75 gallons for a 100 gallon tank. Drove out of truck stop onto turnpike, smoking and missing on acceleration. No water light. Changed fuel filters, they had dark & dirty fuel so was that was my problem? Not quite. Still didn't totally fix the problem. So added sea foam but couldn't stand the missing / backfires and what else was going on back there. So decide to remove and clean injectors. I was hoping they would find a bad injector to explain what the problem was and they did. So I reinstalled injectors, 1 remanufactured, 5 cleaned and tested . So I don't think it was bad fuel I think it was crap that's in my fuel tank. So before test driving my rebuilt injectors I decided to put in some Kleen tank treatment and polish my fuel & tank. Did everything I could to clean tank without removing the tank. So now ready to go for a spin with new fresh fuel in tank and new filters. I bought a bunch of new filters from Amazon and I'll change my filters after a few tanks of fuel on the way to Florida. PS I'm DIY guy and made my own polishing pump and filters and had some 55 gallon barrels to store fuel and to buy fresh fuel to put in rv. You can read my first post in IRV2 So find away to clean your tank

Job is done

OK took her for a test drive and she purr's like kitten. I'm glad that if this had to happen it happened on my way home and I was able to take my time to do the repair.
PS So for the money I saved by doing it myself I'm going to go out for a nice dinner or buy an airplane.
