What are the steps to use the on-board generator to charge the house batteries?

1. Power on the gen set.
2. Power on both inverters.
3. Set both inverters to charge.

Tell us what RV you have and what inverter/chargers you have.

Then we can be of more assistance.

BTW, in many coaches, this is "automatic" when generator is on or on shore power. Yes, on some, the charge function can be turned on/off.

There are no other steps.

Your generator is a substitute for shore power, when running it powers everything.

Most inverter/chargers are set to automaticly charge the batteries when power is available. Leave yours that way.

We have a 2007 TS Select Limited. I believe the 2 inverters are original, but not sure if they are Magnums or Xantrex. I'll have to check my manuals.

Your inverter meters, which are probably in a bathroom cabinet, will have the name of the brand on them.

Update: Exercised the Gen-Set for 2 hours yesterday (while float charging the batteries) and was able to close the slides. Lesson Learned - Exercise Your Gen-Set regularly.
