Dash gauges inoperable
I have a 40 ft. Travel supreme 2003. I changed the cranking batteries 2, and now all of the dash gages do not work. The engine starts and everything else seems to work but no gages. Checked fuses and breakers.

What fuse did you check? On my rig I have fuses in four different locations:
1) The fuse blocks in the small compartment just forward of the driver's side front tire.
2) A fuse block near the engine & transmission computers in the power bay (just behind the driver's side rear tires.
3) A couple of in-line fuses directly off the positive terminals on the batteries inside the battery compartment (behind the passenger's side rear tires).
4) Inside the bedroom closet, although I doubt any of these are tied to the dash gauges.
Hopefully you'll find something there. Did you notice any sparks or have anything unusual happen when you replaced the batteries?

The only thing I hate worse than letting some of the sparks out of electronics is when the smoke escapes!!
When you turn on your parking lights does the instrument backlighting illuminate?
If possible take a pic of your instruments and post it. If they are Ametek NGI gages I have the prints for them would be glad to share with you.

Check for a broken ground wire at the batteries. I had the same thing happen when I put the batteries in in the spring once in my previous motorhome.

Look very closely at the speedo when you turn on the ignition key. Does the needle move at all. (It may only be 1/4" or so off the bottoms stop?
As Lou indicated this sure sounds like a blown fuse or bad ground.
Who made your instruments? A close up,pic of your speedo would help us.

Inoperable gages,
Problem fixed! Even though I took pictures they didn't show one wire and I put it on ground. When I noticed that it was fused I moved it to positive.
Thanks to all for the great tips! It was a learning experience.
