onan 8000 HD KAK 1145 1H shut down with error code #36 Engine off. It wants to turn over but, about 1/8 off turn and stops. Batteries good. I have 13.6 volts going in. Any ideas? Thanks Larry It just started. Maybe I did something right. I still would like comments.

Checked the Oil?

Checked to be sure you had fuel - no water in the line - or Pinched - or pulling air? last Coach is not below 1/4 tank?

No shorts in the lines causing an overload - turn everything off.

That's all I've got with the limited info.

Manual mentions:


1. Low fuel. Add fuel. Reprime for 30 seconds and try to restart.
2. Clogged air filter. Clean or replace.
3. Mechanical Damage.

If it was running and shut off and now will not crank, it may be the model that has the magnets comming off and binding up the rotor in the generator section.

Big expensive repair.

I am not sure what the problem was. It is possible I did not have enough amps going to the motor. Put the charger on this morning for a few minutes and it started immediately. Yes, I had fuel, oil and coolant. Ran it for about an hour and a half under a load and no problems at all. Thanks for replying. Larry
