House batteries not charging

I have an '04 45' Select. When plugged into shore power only 1 bank of house batteries is charging. Any ideas?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You have more than one bank of house batteries? If so than there is likely a separate charging source for the other set(s). A second charger or inverter charger? Are you connected to an adequate power supply to operate multiple chargers?

I'm assuming you've checked the voltage at the battery banks, and one is higher than the other. If not, how did you determine one is not charging?

If the voltages are different, they are obviously not connected, use a voltmeter to see which cable is not making a connection. IE, positive on one bank to positive on the other bank, same with negatives.

Did this happen after some worked on the cables. Both banks need to have a negetive cable to the chassis and a positive cable between the banks.

I have 2 inverters, one for each bank of 4 batteries. One bank is charging, the other is not. I know this because the control panels in the rv and on the inverter tell me so……

That's a new on on me. Seems like I'd start at the inverter that's not charging, go into the settings, do a reset, make sure it's getting AC power.

One inverter is not showing a " Charging " light ?

I have read of other dual inverter systems that only charge both banks if the battery banks are low. If on float, one shuts down charging.

Have you pulled the shore plug and used the batteries for 4 to 5 hours and then plugged it back in ?

Has it ever worked correctly since you've owned the RV?

And, if so, have you done any work on the RV recently?
