If you do the X-bracing, you are addressing the CAUSE. The halo is better compared to addressing the symptoms. Face it...the longer frames are not stiff enough to carry a "house" around over variable terrain without causing some distortions. First, stiffen it up and evaluate the results...the halo can always be added later if one thinks he needs a bit more "protection". As I've said before, the 45 degree bracing was a SIGNIFICANT improvement over my earlier X-bracing in the basement frame area. I would NOT consider the job complete without it. And something that never seems to get mentioned is to do supplemental bracing out to the outside walls to improve floor sagging and wall distortions. These are all simple solutions and I continually question why TS did NOT provide these structural elements to their products.
