Question on replacing 12v deep cycle house batteries

Hello, we have a 2002 TS 38ds02. Do you have to have dual purpose deep cycle and cranking amps? The old weak ones we have are 92 AMH and cold cranking 550 house batteries? Can we just replace with deep cycle AGMS? Thanks so much.

For house batteries a true deep cycle is best IF you plan or do boondocking much. If you never dry camp then the cheapest 12 V dual use is more than enough.

If going with flooded LA then a pair of 6V Golf Cart battys in series is an ideal deep cycle batty for house use.

see https://marinehowto.com/what-is-a-deep-cycle-battery/

If you go with AGM then (at least per East Penn) their AGM line battys have the same plate design and perform both deep cycle and starting for GCs and starting batty. Look at specs and choose size and AH desired. - No advantage of 6V in series w/ AGM and you can parallel multi 12V to get more AH and still be able to take a bad one out of the system if/when it fails where 6V GC must be taken out in pairs.
Sams Club East Penn AGMs are reasonably priced and I've had good luck w/ many of these.

Cheapest solution is to go to Sams and get their GC-2 6-volt deep cycle batteries. If you want more "kick", look at Lifelines, either 220 or 300 A-H batteries.(6 v)
