Window Sweep Replacement/Repair

Noticed that the small drivers window from time to time allows water to pass between the two sections of glass. Due to the age of my coach it, would be nice to change out the rubber divider. Anyone had luck with this or is it even possible.

Are you sure it’s the rubber? There should be some post relating to this issue about drilling a relief hole. My Select had this issue and I had Paul fix it when the coach was in for other repairs. Hopefully someone with a good memory will chime in to help.

I drilled the relief hole in my coach. As the seal material in the slider weakens it allows water to overflow in the window channel and leak inside the coach. The fix is easy but you must be very careful where you drill hole so as not to hit the glass. I drilled my hole exactly three and one half inches down from the existing weep hole. It starts just where the window begins to turn up towards the front. Made it one inch long. It has worked fine for the last eight years with no water entering coach.

Thanks Becks! Used the old Dremell tool at the location you indicated, and out came the remaining water! A touch of black paint and you will never know.

I, too, would like to see a photo of the area where you drilled that hole.

I sent a picture to your phone Ray. Should allow you to see exactly where I drilled my additional weep hole.

update

This is a picture where I put mine, seems to have done the trick, When I removed all the carpet for the hardwood you could see where water had stained the floor on the right front next to the wall.

We've had some water coming in around our window frame. Tried to figure out where it's coming from. Our weep holes don't seem to be clogged. I see you already have weep holes. What made you think they were the cause of your leak on the floor & why don't you think they were working. Really trying to figure this out. We just pulled our carpet this week & there is water stains on the floor under our window. Thanks for posting the picture.
