After an extensive search of our forum ... I've yet to find someone who has actually done this .....
We'll be towing a 20" enclosed car hauler with electric brakes, and need to install a brake controller ....
my understanding is that TS/Spartan didn't run the "blue wire" from front to back till 05 or so ...... so am looking for someone who can help make this process as simple

Hal,

I did it on a 2002 Monaco Windsor. The hardest part was snaking the heavy gauge Blue wire from the front to the rear for connecting into my 7-Way Trailer connector.

How can I help you even though our coaches are different?

If you know where to pick up the Brake Signal that will NOT conflict with your Engine Brake Signal then it will be a piece of cake.

Here are the two diagrams you would need. Your coach is not wired for a tow brake controller so you would need to pick up the stop light signal from the column connector shown in diagram 2048 there is a pig tail from that connector shown on the drawing for this purpose. In diagram 2050 the rear of the coach, passenger side frame rail is the lighting harness it shows a spare wire A03 that you can use to take the controller signal to the rear of the coach. The spare A03 is also in the front of the coach near the tag dump and exhaust brake

Contact Spartan with your coach serial and they will send you a full list of all the wiring colours and codes that relate to your specific chassis

ok ... we're into this full force this weekend .... I've never seen so many wires nor have I looked at so many diagrams .......... i think we've found the A03 spare up in a bundle forward of the steering column .... ... in the front for sure, but will need to confirm the rear .... finding the correct wire for the brake light is challenging .... trying to come right off the pedal switch ....
will come off the ignition direct ... and want to make certain of the correct ground to use .... I think I've got the basics ... but man ... lots of wire to identify ....
will start plugging in this week ....
only a few weeks away before launch ... so lots still to do .......

Okey .... thats done ..... found the A03 Red spare that runs from front to rear ... in a bundle up under the dash above the steering column .... confirmed in the back, it comes in on the right rail.
Used a clean battery ground (SPI85A) coming out of the bulkhead connector on the left ... the brake switch thats in the bundle to the steering column for cruise control (SPO24A), a unused black wire in the bulkhead bundle the is switched power. Mounted the P3 behind the switch panel left of the driver seat as suggested.
Its been a bit exhausting, but am understanding the electrical info I now have for the bus. Will confirm the rear connected and add the trailer brake wire here shortly.
Hopefully this will help someone else who mite be need info re this hook up.
