13500 BTU or 15000 BTU. What to do?

Hey everyone.

My front AC is shot and will be replaced under extended warranty. The original is 15000 BTU. The issue is only a 13500 BTU is in stock and a 15000 BTU could take months to arrive.

I am not 100 percent sure but I beleive the mid and rear ac's are 13500 and the front 15000.

What to do? Will it make much difference? What would you do?

Gary

I wouldn't do it. I would wait or call around and find one even if I had to pay some of the bill to get a 15000btu of a different brand name.

Unless your mid and rear units have been changed, they should all be 15000 with heat pumps. I too would find the 15000 with heat pump.

Thanks for the feedback. Everyone has confirmed I should wait.

We are in Canada, so thing maybe a little different here. Would anyone know what model I have so I don't have to get up on the roof. I see them on amazon but don't really know which ones are mine other than it is black.

What is on someone else's roof tells you nothing about what is on YOUR roof. You may not be able to climb, but you probably have access a mobile RV tech who can figure it out for you. Someone that is even more of a "trailer RV tech" in a smaller town can do that work for you.

Also, what is on your roof now tells you nothing about what was on the roof when it was manufactured. Entegra can tell you what was on there when the unit left Middlebury. Call them.

Thx Gary, they are definitely the original AC units. When ever I call Entegra they tell me since it is a 2014 they can only give me general info and not the actual build sheet. I’ll give them a call though.

If you have the original "Bag of Books" there will be three ID cards in there, one for each A/C. Will give you model and serial number.

Later...

Yes, I called Entegra and was told 1-3 months. Ugh. Air Excel is only shipping new units to manufacturers and Entegra is only shipping if the amount of AC units they have in stock gets ahead of the production line. Which they state is rare. Some go out in a week others take 3 months. It depends on the timing.

I am on the waiting list now for a 15k but I am also considering moving the rear AC unit to the front and putting a 13500 on the rear. The rear does very little work as we all know due to the lack of windows.

Still pondering my options.
