I keep hoping they will open a few Speedco in Washington.... I even contacted them and requested locations up here... So far no luck.

I did call the day before
Told them what I had....she said come in.
Now I get to buy two fuel filters and change them myself
Not "cool"

Has anyone had experience with the Rippon, CA Speedco? I will likely be using them later this year for my first oil change.

There really IS something wrong with your experience and you should try to figure it out. Those filters are standard items to change, and they should certainly have the main fue filter and now the secondary since most Cummins 450 have the same configuration Are you sure they didnt' change them? Did they tell you why they weren't going to change them if they didn't? That is a standard part of the process so there should be a reason. Dont you have an itemized list of what they did and what the charge was for? What did they tell you?

After lubing the U joints yesterday, I realized, the older I get the less fun it is. I will pay Speedco to do the dirty work even if one shop charges $20. more than the next shop. It sure beats paying Cummins price.

I will try to attach the bill.
I really am not a complainer.
They told me first I didn't need to change fuel filters but with every third oil change.
I told them it was my first service and I wanted them changed.
That's when they said they were out of both filters....I understand that. It happens.
I said I shouldn't pay full price.......you know the rest of the story .
Corporate didn't call back yesterday......if they call I will let you folks know.
If they don't I will chalk it up to just a bad experience.
Funny thing is....I am a farmer...changed all my oil and fuel filters on all my tractors, cars, combines, semis, pickups, and etc. for 40 years. DW has been after me to slow down and let someone else do the dirty work. So I thought the new DutchStar was a place to start.
No big deal all things considered.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Len, I see that state has a high $17. environmental charge. I don't think I paid that, but will have to look at my receipt the next time I am at the MH. My charge was a lot less and I had 3 filters and took a 4th one as a spare fuel filter with me. I think my total was $264.

Len, thanks for the post as it's good to see what other Speedco's are doing. This is from a recent, 6/1, service. It was our first service, 8,200 miles. I wasn't sure I had a lube done from reading my invoice, called, they said I did and their records showed it on line #6 but I had no line #6 on mine? Now not sure. Will call Service Mgr. to verify. They did say a complete Lube was part of their "MEDIUM DUTY PM". I will verify. Guess were all learning. Were just small fish: Looks like different service centers vary as to what they provide.

Interesting...

My charges are very different. I cant publish since it scans in green which does not show up well printed. My service date was 4/22/16, Mileage at 13,250m

My coach took 28 quarts of Rotella 15W40
I got a Baldwin Oil Filter BD 7309 $9.99 (EQ to LuberFiner LF9009)
a Baldwin Primary Fuel Filter BF1378 $5.99 (eq to FS1065)
a Fleetguard secondary Fuel Filter FF63009 $21.98 (same)

Parts came to $139.41 (you have fewer filters, priced per each)
Labor came to $88.99
Environment $16.99 (never noticed that charge, but the same)
Total $245.39
$ 21.36 Tax
Total $266.75

I sounds like they just didnt have your filters. It looks like you only got charged for the oil filter and nothing more.

I had not noticed that you were driving another brand, so maybe your filters are different. I thought that you were driving an Entegra and knew that all of our filters should be standard items (and I would think that yours would be too).

You paid much more in labor, and much less in parts....
