Basement rot potential

So you have the gaskets around the door and you also have the gaskets around the basement compartments.

What we did not have is anything between the angle iron and the wood floor

This means
Rot
And
Rust

Remove the gasket

Treated angle iron with Ospho for 24 hours
Made sure the wood was good

Then placed 100% silicone in the voided area
Placed gasket back on the body edge and it’s sealed and ready to go.

Lp has tank freshen up

The Lp tank from Manchester was a little rusty in places so I removed it from the coach and put Ospho on her.

Waited a day or two hot water pressure washed it and then proceeded to brush the flaky remnants.

Painted with a good aerosol epoxy paint.

Contacted Manchester and they sent new stickers out to me for a whopping 17 bucks but hey. I got them now.

This is the photos of the tank and one of my guys putting the stickers back on.

The moment of stupid

Sometimes I really kill myself.

So Iíve been reading how a surge protector is a must. I took it seriously

So seriously that I never thought my coach would have come with one

Never fear! Iíve got my electricians to install my new surge protector since I donít wanna sweat it out today.

Nooooo problem.

So what do my electricians do? You guessed it. Put the rookie on the job.

Now why is this a problem? Well just keep reading.

Hand them the surge protector and sure enough they follow my instructions to a Tee!!

Now what do you see as the problem here???

1. Itís not the fact that my bulldog is upside down
2. Itís not the fact that you canít tell that the surge protector is out of plumb

But what else could it be?

Ohhhh. You mean you didnít notice that surge protector that you had to unwire to get the room to install the new surge protector in the old surge protector?
🤣🤢😡

So the rookie got grilled
The bulldog is not right side up
The bulldog box is now plumb
And
I have not one but two surge protectors

Mark, what kind of thinset or glue did you use for your tile job? I have to replace a couple of tiles. Forgot to secure the liquor cabinet before taking off.

Thanks Herb

For one or two tiles you can use clear 100% silicone and that is what I used for my staircase

We used MAPEI ULTRAFLEX from lowes as our thinset on the larger area.

I believe both work equally well.

I was able to fish a string up into the entertainment center from the basement on our '12 42DEQ and then pull an ethernet cable through.

I drew an arrow in the picture showing the string that I fished in with the existing cables.

It wasn't easy and I think there was a large element of luck that got the cable in place.

Good deal, if I have to go that route I'll keep that in mind. I think so far I'm good.

Electric Sub-Panel

Noticed the Roof air Breakers tripping intermittently no matter what else was on.
After investigating and pulling the drawer open, the slim line tandem breakers were hot and when I say hot, I mean like crazy hot.

Opened up the panel and ran an amp test on each leg and nothing crazy.
Check the temperature of the wires going into the breaker and the neutrals and also cool as a cucumber.

Started looking a little deeper and the bus bar had mild corrosion and the box had small rust marks from what looked like general humidity.

The fix
Bought a new sub-panel and took the guts out of the new one and inserted into the old box after removing all of the old components.

The other thing we did was convert from Cutler Hammer to General Electric.

They have slim line breakers that are not combo breakers. This by itself reduces heat also even if everything else is ok.

Switched the coach back on and breakers and all are cool as can be.

This can be a fire hazard so good to check while your coach is under a load on shore power or Gen power to make sure that you do not have a bus issue from corrosion or tired breakers that may be generating excessive heat from arcs or another issue internally.

Hope this helps.

Hughes Power Watchdog

I have this and do not need it.
Comes with 3+ foot of 6/3 service cable also.

225 to your door.

This one hard wires in the basement so you donít have to worry about theft.

If your friends need one. Here it be.
