2012 Aspire Aqua hot 375lp

We are close to purchasing this coach and it’s in very good condition but maybe not used enough. I am having a problem with a few Aqua hot zones and looking for some help. I have searched this forum and watched numerous videos on the system but still need some clarification with the following:
Zone 1 front heat is controlled by Dometic thermostat set on furnace?
Zone 2 floor heat is controlled by the small square thermostat in bath?
Zone 3 rear heat is controlled by Dometic thermostat set on furnace?
Basement heat is controlled by small square thermostat in basement?

My Dometic thermostat has no furnace setting on zone 2, I watched an Entegra video that said it should show furnace on 2 but doesen’t.
The coach has been winterized so I am only checking the heating system for a potential trip from the North to the South. So far I can only feel the heat working on zone 1 and I’m not sure if I’m turning the zones on correctly or I have a stuck check valve or bad circulator pump. Can any confirm I have the zone/ thermostats controls correct.

I have a 2012 Aspire as well and can confirm your zone/thermostat assumptions are correct. Regarding the Dometic thermostat zone 2 that is correct and it only has the AC / Heat-pump. The heat pumps (all three dometic ACs have heat pumps) only work for temps above 40. You only have zone 1&3 and basement for propane heat. We generally only need the fireplace to take the chill off.

Also note the floor heat (small square thermostat in bathroom) will take 12-24 hours to warm and the bathroom floor will not warm, at least mine has never warmed.

If zone 3 is not warm from the registers in the bedroom and rear bath, then there may be a stuck check valve in the lower left center side of the Aqua Hot. Getting to it may be difficult, and there have been posts on this forum of a owner that cut a panel out of the wall in the bay to gain access to the Aqua Hot and had to drill out the rivets to take off the side panel.



Tapping on the valve with a screwdriver fixed this issue, and driving the coach on our USA roads may accomplish the same result...lol.

I also have a 2012. I’m not at the coach, and just make my settings from muscle memory, but I don’t recall every setting zones 1 and 3 to furnace. I set mine to “heat”. If that’s an option on your dometic panel, give it a try.

The coach has no heat going to the rear bedroom and bath. I will do the cut out for access and rap on the check valve. Also there is no basement heat, maybe the same stuck check valve? I turned on all zone thermostats including the floor and I hear the Entegra installed circulator pump running, just not sure it pumping or only running. Entegra told me that pump is only activated by zone 1 and floor heat, is that correct? The temp on the line to and from the aux pump were up to 120 degrees so I assume it’s pumping. We are taking delivery this Sunday and will try to get this and bad inverter sorted out before we leave for Florida at the end of the month . Wish me luck!

Are the registers blowing on the Zone 3 heat, just no heat? If yes, then the valve is most likely just stuck closed on that zone loop.

If your coach does not have a latch on the door in front of the passenger drive axel, on the bottom of the door is 2 screws that you can remove, and the door is hinged at the top so you can lift it and prop it open, and that is where my circulation pump is. (just FYI)

For the basement heat, is your controller in the coach cabinet, or down in the basement? My Basement thermostat was not working, so I changed it.

We have a 2011 aspire with the same aqua hot you have. We also had the exact same problem and it was the stir pump bad. Also zone 2 does not have a furnace connection just like you discovered.
