2012 Aspire Water Pump Failure
All
(2012 Aspire DEQ)
Just a quick FYI in case it happens to someone else. Due to water flowing back into my fresh water tank and over flowing, I decided to insert a check valve. Unfortunately, I installed it the wrong way! Duh!!! When I turned on the pump it immediately stopped and would N
not turn on again.
Testing (after turning around the check valve in the right direction):
1. I tried the other on/off switch in the bathroom and still no go - although the red power light came on and verified 12V power.
2. I took the pump wires and manually tested the pump with an external battery. All worked well. So I knew the pump worked and check valve was installed correctly.
3. I looked for a relay or fuse and could not find one.
4. I reached out to Entegra Customer Service and was informed there was no in line fuse. (Hmm)
5. After leaving and trying to get a good night sleep (nope!). I went back to the coach the next day.
6. Conducted a 12V reset (Chuck’s go to solution) and still no go.
7. Went back to the monitor panel in the bathroom looking for a blown fuse.
8. Since the See Level monitor water pump on/off button light turned on when I turned on the pump the pump would still not turn on. I pressed the other fluid level buttons (grey, black, fresh, battery, and LPG)all lit up … another Hmmm
9. BUT, I noticed fuse #4 flashed red when I pressed any button on the See Level. I looked and fuse #4 was labeled for the See Level monitor.
10. I pulled the 10 amp fuse and it was blown (no idea why the See Level monitor still worked).
11. Replaced the fuse, and amazingly the water pump worked now.
So, although there is not an in line fuse for the water pump, check your See Level monitor fuse #4 (on classics) if your pump fails to turn on!!
Hope this helps someone.
Jeff

Interesting, thanks for that info. Here is the schematic:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1D9R...w?usp=drivesdk
Note that the power feed (top right) is indeed labeled "Spyder fuse 10A #4" and it shows that it feeds the entire setup; the seelevel monitor panel, the switch indicator light and the pump.
I think the answer to why the seelevel panel still worked is on page 17 of this document:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jRX...w?usp=drivesdk
Not sure if you have a G5A or a G5D Spyder/Firefly load center, but they are similar. Note the diagram on page 17 labeled "Unswitched Fuse Output" and the LED diode across the fuse. There's probably a dropping resistor there as well that is not shown. As you experienced, the diode will light up when the fuse is blown and the device is attempting to draw power. But it is also apparently passing enough current to power the seelevel.

Thanks Jeff. Good to know. This sounded familiar. I think the original owner penciled “seelevel” next to #4 on my G5 panel.

Yours is setup differently, you have a Firefly G6 which has resetable pop out fuses. The pump and "monitor panel" are on B14.
See photo: https://photos.app.goo.gl/S2qLvR6Bcgua9jyC7
See if B14 popped out and if so reset it.
Other than the +12v coming from breaker #14, the schematic linked in my previous post is still accurate.
If the breaker isn't popped, there are several other things that can fail. A common failure is the pump pressure switch, especially if your pump tends to rapid cycle. I've replaced mine a couple of times. That's a simple repair. To test you can bypass it by unplugging the wires from the switch at the nose of the pump and shorting them together. You can get the part on Amazon. This one is for the factory 4008 pump:

Also note, the 2017 Aspire (at least as of my delivery date 10/2016) does not use a relay, to feed power to the 4008 Shurflo pump, so full pump current flows thru the two switches on the two SeeLevel panels. Those are fairly light duty switches so are a possible source of failure especially if you upgraded to a bigger pump.

JBurklo:
Read your reply to slideout motor stating you used replacement to Klauber.
I have ‘21 Anthem 44F that uses Klauber K01431B300 - only available thru Entegra and several post speak to Amazon 523900 and you stated using one without issue.
My specs are 1/10hp, 6.0rpm. The Amazon stares 9.0rpm, doesn’t address hp.
I have not found anyone that specifically states replacing Klauber K01431B300 and using the Amazon motor 523900
Appreciate your input - thanks!
