2014 Premium Sound System

The 2014 Anthem brochure indicates a "Forced Option Starting Approx. 7/13" for the above subject.

Can anyone tell me what that really means?

Thanks

Curt

From what I was told a week after we ordered (July 3rd) it included a 40 inch outside tv and a new Samsung touch screen DVD/sterio/radio outside as well and a Bose sterio speaker system in the bedroom. An increase in the msrp I think covers it.

I guess the question I'd ask is .... Did you get the quote on a dealer pre-ordered model where the dealer ID'd what they want built on the coach to Entegra? IMO, that then would become a "forced option" )although there aren't that many available). That's how most people are getting coaches from the large dealers within several months of ordering. From what I heard at Middlebury, they have back orders for somewhere out 12-14 months. I mean, I don't know for sure, but if you want one your way, they can sometimes make changes...sometimes they can't, ... and maybe sometimes they won't. Or you can get in line for a unit that you spec to the factory...then it's some period longer than 4 months.

But I think the "they" are the dealers...not Entegra. because I don't think I've seen anything, anywhere on Entegra literature about forced options.

I talked to Tad because I wanted to change the hide-a-bed to the larger drivers side sofa and even though the coach had not been started I was told sorry, no changes after the pieces have been ordered for a coach. It's a JIT deal.

Just in time (JIT) is the standard in the industry. Saves money, reduces out of date inventory, reduces errors, and just works during periods of high demand for product. Newmar allows that customization, but you pay about 15-20% more for it across the product line, whether you customize or not. Both good coaches, but a major difference. JMHO

Sorry -- still not clear to me...

Does this "forced option" increase my cost? Does is raise the base MSRP?

How does a "forced option" affect the buyer of a new Anthem after 1 AUG 13?

Thanks,

Curt

My understanding of the term "forced option" is that these new items will now be included in all NEW orders as of 7/13 and because they are not considered "standard equipment" you will receive all these items on your coach BUT you will also be paying for them. It is a way for Entegra to upgrade items in the current year and recover the costs. Or another way to explain it would be that as of 7/13 they have increased their prices because of new features that have been added.

Ok -- got it.

There is an increase to the MSRP.

That's what I needed to know.
