Spray lube ever single swivel point first. Usually that is 90% of the problems.

If not working at all, the first thing is the unplug the motor and see if there is voltage at the plug........when they are suppose to open or close.......if not, check and clean the ground.......if no go.......follow back to the fuse/power source and troubleshoot, and if there is power at the plug, the step motor has went on vacation. As Chuck posted, keep the lubed up at all the moving points.........easier on the motor.

Knock on the small black magnetic switch located on the front door frame near the bottom (not that we have a back door).😂 We had the same problem and had to change out switch. Good luck.

You need a new step motor. Never step on the step while it is moving. Wait until it is fully out.

Take the cover off of the gear box and inspect the gears. They are just plastic gears. If the steps have been stepped on while in motion it doesn't take much to damage the gears. Lube every thing while making the inspection.
