2016 Aspire or 2014 Anthem
Hi all, I have been looking at upgrading our coach and Entegra has been at the top of our list. I have been following the threads about front end issues and am still concerned enough to be cautious with my decision. All the major manufacturers seem to be having problems relating to certain distinct parts. That being said it leads me to my question, would you buy your coach again if you could have a do over. Also there are some good prices(in my price range) on 2016 Aspires and I also found a 2014 Anthem in the same price range, with floor plan the same which one would you buy? Thanks, Ray

I would sway toward the anthem. There just more put into the coach with this step up In model than a aspire..

I would definitely buy Entegra again, love our coach. I would definitely recommend the 2016 as it has tons of improvements, upgrades and new technology as well as a LOT of warranty with the two year warranty. The new style end caps will date the older 14 at trade in time and cost you more money in the long run. All JMHO

Yeah I agree with you on the end cap design. I like the new look although when comparing 2014's to other brands I personally thought Entegras to be a step up in the looks dept. You have bought newer model year coaches is there a reason other than"because I can" ?

I personally like the older end cap better. Too much bling on the new one, what with all the chrome and diagonal lines and LEDs. But, it's not a deal breaker either way. The new one doesn't make the old one look crummy or dated on the road.
The newer models have some nice technology improvements, but the 'classic' is no slouch. I have a 2015, thus a classic, and the styling is fine and would have no impact on a buying decision. I do really like the new battery location, the addition of IFS to the Aspire line, and similar improvements. The new electronics such as the VegaTouch seem a bit shaky still, but they'll sort that out. You really can't go wrong either way. The old Anthem would have IFS, which an older Aspire doesn't, but when you compare an older Anthem to a new Aspire, they are very close. I would probably opt for the new Aspire and the only important thing I would be giving up is the larger fuel tank. In return I would get a full warranty.

Yes, I think so. Not only because of the vast technology upgrades but also because Entegra is a relative newcomer to the Motorhome business and because the designers are not users of the product. Entegra has listened and made a lot of changes because of owner requests. As a result the useability, storage, placement and design of features and systems are all vastly improved and get better every year. All this makes the newer models feel more at home and comfortable to RVers. All JMHO

I also like the classic look as I should of mentioned. In my earlier post The extra tall awning dams give it a lot taller look going down the road which is just classy
I believe they shrunk the 16 s down 6 inches. Even on the new anthems
Let's not forget the 12.5 gen which is huge on quietness and running the coach out on the road Yes the 10k does a good job but 12.5 is better
Imo .. The 2 year warranty would be nice up front. But a 14 hopefully would have all the bugs worked out by previous owner.. My 14 goes down the road straight as a arrow. Never had what others are reporting on my anthem. As far as technology it seems mine does everything just fine
Tvs are great hd quality. Great Bluetooth. Satellite radio navigation
Remote controlled slides and awnings
No I can't turn my ac,s or gen on with a I pad but doubt I would if I could
Good luck. It's fun figuring in all out..

I am swayed towards the Anthem because of things like fuel tank capacity, bigger generator, girard awnings, is there more capacity in holding tanks also? The tech stuff is great but not that important to me.

While not exactly an apples to apples comparison about 8 yrs ago we faced a similar decision with a Tiffin choice. A 2 yr old low mileage Allegro Bus or a new ( would have been ist new coach ) Phaeton. After much consideration we chose the Bus and were never sorry for making that choice as we got more bang for our bucks.
If warranty is a concern then an extended service plan should be considered. The 16 Aspire has upped the anti a lot over a 15 but IMHO the Anthem interior, fit n finish, 150 gal tank & other features would sway me. I am assuming the Anthem comes in less $$$$ and has depreciated while the 16 Aspire will depreciate the second you own it !

Yes the Anthem is a little less $$ and it has 3 mos. left on warranty(I called Entegra)although not a lot of time it would still enable me to sort anything out that was obvious. It has "more of" naturally and with only 10000 mi it is probably my choice but we will have to travel 600 mi. to check it out.

Make the drive. We love our Aspire but I wouldn't hesitate to move to an Anthem for the same money. The extra fuel would be worth it. Get the Anthem and take it to Middlebury. Entegra will go through it stem to stern and fix anything they find - before the warranty is gone.

If you like the fuel tank capacity then the battery capacity should rate right up there as well. If you spend any time unplugged the double capacity battery bank and the fact that they are AGM's in the Anthem is a big plus. The Girards while they look nice are more susceptible to wind damage. The fresh water, black and gray tanks are not bigger in the Anthem.

I would go for the Authem over the Aspire if they are at the same price. One thing you would like more then all the other bells and whisels would be the 150 gal fuel tank.
