2016 Cornerstone Macerator Discharge Reroute

Decided to reroute the discharge so that s#+t would run downhill

1. Cut existing pipe ( big lump in throat)

2. Cut out old pipe run and put in new piece that heads back out the bottom of small compartment after cutting hole in bottom sheet metal with hole saw

3. Came out under Coach.

4. The pipe comes out to under the back corner of the wetbay to a female cam lock fitting. The block of wood increases the downward angle of the pipe as well as bracing against the bottom of the coach. Along this section I used three pipe hangers to keep it in place.

5 and 6. I used a rubber connecting piece to join the new pipe to old pipe. It allowed a little slop where pipes met. I doubled up on the normal two clamps.

7. Back corner under wetbay female cam lock with male plug installed for traveling.

8. Worried about mice entering, on the advice of a local water/irrigation contractor, used triple expanding foam to fill in the crack. This stuff really expands.

I used black ABS pipe and elbow fittings and the proper ABS glue. Only challenge was gluing the female cam lock piece. There I used two part plastic weld epoxy. All works fine! No leaks

Thank you all that did this before me

Taj, did you have a blade valve on the line you cut? Many of the 16s didn’t have one so EC issued a TSB to have one installed. Well i wasn’t aware of such a TSB so when i did a similar mod, i had to install it. My logic was if I didn’t have one there and i ever dumped with my slinky that line would fill up and stay there until the first time i pulled the cap to hook up the sani hose, and well you know the rest of the story. This would never be an issue if the hose was still coming up out of the storage well to to the incline.

I did not. Wasn’t aware late 16’s had one until I was talking with another owner.

Looks my work here is NOT done.

Mark, did you find a 1 1/2” blade in ABS or did you use a PVC valve?

Taj, i used a Valtera brand blade valve with a cable that i installed on the wet bay panel next to my electric valve controls. If i was doing it again i would make it an electric valve. I know that area is a bear to work in.

Mark, I don't suppose you have this TSB do you? I noted it is NOT on my AIR list. If you have it, I'll ping my service advisor with it and get it installed. I know I never received it.

Thx, Brian

Brian, I never got the number, I was told it had a 1year shelf life that expired before I learned of it, and I decided not to push EC for reimbursement. Sorry!

Macerator discharge reroute

Another attack to the problem on a 2016 Anthem 45B.
1. Cut discharge line in wet bay.
2. Cut 2 inch hole in floor of wet bay.
3. Plumbed 1 1/2 inch pipe as illustrated.
4. Bracket obtained through Entegra Parts in order to hold outboard end of pipe steady.
5. Male camlock on end of pipe and capped with female camlock to allow seal-up while underway.
6. Modified discharge hose with clear plastic section to observe when tank is clearly flushed.
Sealed all with silicone to keep moisture out.
I now use old storage locker for spare discharge hose.
