It'll be interesting to see what "turbo" means. Maybe the new Sanicon is faster? Someone who has the new system and has used the old system will have to report in on that.

They say the turbo version will empty a 40 gallon tank in less than one minute

Recently the gardening crew at my site dislodged our sewer pipe ever so slightly. But it was enough that when I dumped the black tank, you can guess what happened. I was standing there so the mess was very limited. If I was remote, no one would have been very happy. After 10 years in a MH, I now check the sewer connection every dump session.

Where are the electric gate valve control switch and the on/off switch for the macerator currently located on the 2016s?

I had the old, much slower version of the SaniCon on my Tiffin. It seemed that we always had to dump the gray tanks when it was dark, cold, windy, hot, humid or raining. You couldn't leave the pump running as it would damage the pump if it ran dry too long. So I would end up standing next to the wet bay waiting and waiting. Did I mention it was REALLY slow. I removed it after about three trips and went back to the slinky. I like the gravity dump compared to the old version because I think velocity and momentum are your friend when trying to clear the tanks.

If the gate control and the on/off were inside and the the Turbo dumps the tank in one minute, I might become converted. I am just not a fan of standing outside and staring at the wet bay. Moving 40 gallons in 50 seconds is almost the same velocity as a gravity dump. We will have to see how people react.

Here is where I found the "40 gals in 50 seconds" claim.

Sani-Con® Turbo | Products | Thetford

The electric gate valves are behind the removable access panel on the 2016s. The switches are on the face of the panel, although you could add a set of switches upstairs if you wanted to. Same for the macerator. Or, you could skip the macerator and open the bypass valve top use the slinky. Nothing will come out until you operate the electric dump valves.

The only drawback to remote controls is that you want to be real sure that your slinky hose is tight in the sewer pipe, hopefully with a threaded connection.

Just curious, is the SaniCon standard on all the Entegra models for 2016? I actually like the Wastemaster system they have on my 2015 Cornerstone, with the exception of the crappy hose they put on at the factory. I switched out the hose to a Drainmaster and now I'm really happy with it. Just wondering why they didn't just change the hose for the 2016's instead of completely changing the system.

That is almost scary. It takes about a minute for the standard 3 inch pipe to drain. I wouldn't want to be around if a fitting failed. Kind of a Robin Williams moment.

All three models use the same system.

well I use a sewer hose that screws into the sewer pipe, a "gardening crew "would have to purposely dislodge my hose. Why is it when someone posts something some people have to post some negative remote possibility? You do realize a meteor could colide with the earth tomarrow and wipe out all humans and create the rise of the gargantuan cochroaches who will rule the earth.(it is a posability)

I'm sorry if I offended you, but I'm not sure why I am apologizing. Not every place has screw in sewer pipes.

That's certainly a LOT faster than what we have. I get a bucket out and sit on it while I wait.
Now, if they'd combine the faster speed and grey bypass....

When we had our Selene trawler I replaced the discharge macerator twice in one year, needless to say it is a most unpleasant job. The reason they kept burning impeller blades was running them dry after the tank was empty. This happened because the off switch was in the pilothouse. Does the Sanicon run the same risk if it is kept running for a few minutes after the tank is empty?

My old SaniCon had a warning to not run the pump dry. I assume this one is the same, but don't know for sure.
