2017 Aspire 42DEQ
I currently own a 2014 Anthem 44DLQ and am starting to look at the 2017
models. The Aspire line has been upgraded considerably making it very
competitive with the Anthem. As I looked at the comparison chart on the Entegra website, here are my specific questions that I know many of you will have the answers:
1) The Aspire generator is 10,000 watt vs 12,500 on Anthem. Is 10,000 plenty to operate 3 AC's and most other needs if dry camping?
2) The Aspire has only one inventor instead of 2 on Anthem. Any worries
with this?
3) Aspire has only 2 house batteries vs 4 on Anthem. Any worries or concerns?
4) The Aspire has manual day and night shades. The shades are my biggest reoccurring problem in my Anthem. Are these a roll type or
more corrugated that you lift? What has been the track record on reliability and wear and tear?
5) The safety page says there is a propane alarm. Is there a propane tank on the 2017 Aspire model?
6) The macerator system is all new to me and makes my palms sweat a little in thinking about a malfunction. How do you drain the hose completely dry? What happens when dumping if the dump end becomes detached from the sewage hookup? I know what happens with gravity flow, but under pressure could really be a mess.....
Thanks in advance for your comments.....

I can run all three airs and anything else I want on 10,000 watts.
One inverter means I can run less and have less power outlets available when not
running the gen. or hooked up to shore power.
My Aspire came with four coach batteries and two chassis batteries
Manuel shades are great. Never had a single shade issue (knock on wood).
No idea on five and six.

After owning the anthem stepping down to the aspire would be tough for me.. I own a 14 anthem also and love it..
The aspire is great and all you ask is fine on the coach and will do a great job..
But it's not a anthem. There is a reason there's a 75 grand difference. J M O

Guernsey: No Propane so a misprint
If like our 16 you'd have both Macerator and slinky dump . The piping/hoses for the Macerator system seem to be resolved and in my opinion both have uses under different circumstances ie: if we are staying long term I use the old 3" slinky but for just a few days I prefer the macerator.

I moved from the Aspire to the Cornerstone. For me, the difference from Aspire to Anthem does not justify the money. I think the new Aspires have (still) propane Aqua Hot but have gone to the induction cook top. I never had a shade motor problem in the Aspire. I never had an electrical problem in the Aspire, but we don't do much dry camping. Hope this helps

Thanks to all. So Aspire owners, how have your mechanical shades worked?
And can you describe them--roll up or pleated ? My electric shades both side and front have been trouble. Including the front shade falling off .....

The front shades are electric. The rest are roll up on my 2015 Aspire. As I understand it 2017 models have gone all electric and using a Aquahot 400D. I am not sure but I thought I had heard that they were going to IFS front axle. Unless you are a big boon docker the 2800W inverter is plenty. I did see where they have gone to 2 AGM house batteries vice 4 lead acid batteries. I do not know the amp hours, my guess it is probably pretty close to a wash on the batteries. The rest is pretty much trim difference to the anthem. Happy shopping

If you care about technology the most important feature you're not going to get in an Aspire is the Vegatouch system. It's a game changer. It's completely different from prior year versions so anyone who hasn't used it is not a credible source of information.
