2017 Cornerstone rear camera washed out. Suggestions?

Found another post about the poor washed out picture quality of the rear cameras on these things. I have already went through all of the suggestions like checking the plugs under the dash, various settings, removed the lens and cleaned everything really well, but still poorer than any of my cars. Anyone replaced the camera with any success or just live with it as it is? Wonder if it is the length of the run since the turn cameras are much clearer. The rear view almost looks like it is black and white so color would certainly help distinguish objects.

I am not having an issues with my rear camera.

When we get a lot of rain the image degrades but after the rain clears the camera view returns to normal.

Last year I removed my camera cover and checked everything when my rear camera had stopped working. The camera and inside of the camera cover were dry. That problem ended up being a connection on my core unit which is in the compartment above the drivers seat.

Good Luck.

Are you referring to "core unit" as the main system control center or the unit that all of the cameras plug into? Checked the unit where all of the cameras plug into. Maybe I will get an old analog monitor and plug the camera directly into it to see if I get a better image or at least some color. I wonder if there is a connector just beyond the camera or if one solid direct cable from the front of the coach all the way to the camera? Sure would be nice to be able to see what is going on better when backing up. Sometimes when backing up the tail is swinging around I lose my spotter in my mirrors and hard to see hand signals.

Well finally got some time to dig into this further. I talked to Total Vision, mfg of our rear camera. What he explained was that the rear camera is only 720p not 1080p like I thought. They do not make a camera in the higher resolution that will tilt and scan like ours do. I sent my camera back and he said he thought everything looked fine but gave me the option of replacing the camera because they supposedly have improved the camera some. At the same time, I replaced the dome. My old dome was not cloudy or anything, but I could see some really, really fine cracks in the plastic. After reconnecting everything back up, there definitely is an improvement and feel confident that it is about as good as you are going to get with a lower resolution camera. Total cost was less than $300 including all shipping so worth it.

Believe my next step will be to install a new 360 high definition system when I get my other to-do items done.

I’ve had 3 coaches with total vision cameras and think they are the best rear camera. I’ve added the best 360 camera system to the mix on my 2019 but still rely on the Total Vision for rear view.

Did you just add the 360 to the hdmi input on the dash display, the Center TV, or add a new separate display? I saw that the Infotainment Xite Radio offers a HDMI input the was not utilized and was thinking of using that.

I added an additional monitor. I looked into using the existing monitors but wasn’t satisfied with the results.
