I've read every post in this thread, so please forgive if this has been asked/answered. Looking at the archived brochures, it appears that 2016 was the first year for the 40P Aspire. If that's correct, did they build any? Looking at the brochure RVOne distributed at their terrific reception last month, the 2017 40P is >$400K MSRP, hence my search for a 2016. Anybody?

Might try "Locate a Dealer" from Entegra's web site Find an Entegra Coach dealer
List what you are looking for under remarks and see if any dealers have what you are shopping for.

We just purchased a new 2015 Aspire 39E which I believe is similar to the 40P. Only 2 axles but it is on a Freightliner chassis. It listed for $355K. There were a few new leftovers around which would sell around 40% off list. The good news is that you still get the full 2 year warranty.

Don't know about Bill but we toured the production line a few days ago. Can't answer your macerator hose question, will look next week. As for the PS wet bay compartment, the unit I looked at had very little free space there, the fresh tank was significantly taller than in my 2013 leaving little space above it. There was maybe 6" between the inside of the door and the side of the tanks. I think that was an Aspire and the compartment was unfinished although it did have a side opening door with a latch unlike Aspire's from 2015 back. Will check out the other models next week.

Note that with the batteries moved mid coach, the prior battery compartment is now a finished cargo compartment and for Aspire's the same is true where the propane tank used to be (so Aspire's gain a huge amount of new storage). Of course the batteries and electrical center take up some space at the rear of the cargo bay and behind the aquahot but the batteries are tall and fewer in quantity, so in general it seemed to me there was much more usable storage overall.

Do you recall if the battery compartment on the Aspire is large enough to support adding two more batteries?

Has anyone added 2 extra L16 to their 2017? I've seen it as a dealer upgrade option. Just wondering if it fits in same compartment or if they have to be placed elsewhere.

I haven't yet dug into that system on our coach. When we purchased it, we had every intention of getting another pair of L16s installed, however I'm unclear if the charger within the inverter is up to the task.

I was informed that the space budget is adequate for 2 additional L16s.

Haven't done it yet but I've researched it and plan to do the upgrade.

Yes there is space, another owner was nice enough to open up the panel and send me a photo.

Physically, looks like all you will need are a couple of tie down straps. Electrically you will need three short cross connect cables and appropriate sized lugs (probably for 5/16" stud). Use a gauge at least what the factory used - probably 3/0, personally I would step it up to 4/0. There's a place online that will make them up for you if you don't have the tools, email me for info. Measure precisely as cables that heavy and short don't have much flexibility.

Assuming the charger is still a Magnum MS2800 it can handle the task with no problem. It has a max capacity of 125 Amps charging current and is one of the highest output chargers on the market. Just remember to set your amp-hour setting to the appropriate value (It will be 780 or so or double what you have now, I don't have the battery specs in front of me).

Make sure to use the same brand/model battery as is installed currently and do the upgrade as soon as possible after purchasing the coach. Mixing battery capacities, brands and old/new is considered a no no.

I beleive the brand is a Discover L16 traction battery. They are hard to find. I got a price of $550 each from the distributor in OH. NIRVC quoted me $600 each, plus extra for installation parts and labor. If anyone has a good source please post!

My 17 is stock. I get about 12 hours between auto-Gen start I changed my low voltage start 12.1 volt . It was set @11.7. So it all looks good the way it is.

Tommy, thanks a lot you just saved me $1200 bucks.

I never go more than 12 hours without either being plugged in, running the generator, or main engine.

Macerator plumbing

It would be worth asking the factory but my somewhat scientific guess is that the macerator "holds liquid" to keep it from running dry. I've always been told that you don't want to run the macerator pump dry or it can overheat the pump and cause damage. By having a "tank" that allows a shutoff before it gets dry you avoid that. There's always some residual black water in a system anyway so no big deal. Like I say that's my assumption and I thought that was a great design....who wants to monitor the pump so closely each time you use it.

If my assumption is the case then I'd do something to heat the area if freezing is a concern rather than eliminate a "feature" and remove the stored liquid.

Thetford claims you will not hurt the new macerator by running it dry. JMHO

Aww shoot Tommy, I just realized you're in a Cornerstone with (4) L16s. Our Aspire has but (2) L16s, or about half your capacity, which will result in about 1/2 the time you quoted.

The times you're stating line up with our previous coach with a similarly sized battery bank. Now we have half that capacity. Your observation helps me move this project forward.

Whomever mentioned the online business that can custom make cables, could you please tell us the name of that business.

Back to shopping.

Thank you,

-Matt
