Entegra has made no secret that they are working on flat floor/tile slides but I would be surprised if they come as soon as 2018. I don't think they are that close but they keep that kind of information pretty close to the vest!

On the steerable tag axle they are only steerable going forward at low speed. In reverse they are locked to prevent any steering at all. That I see as a problem because this locking mechanism could be maintenance issue down the road.
To me to do it right forget the locking mechanism and left the tag off the ground in reverse. Coach and chassis folks resist this saying it overloads the drive axle. Well put a 23,000 lb rear end under it, a lot simpler than using that Mickey Mouse system they are using.
I'm confused on the K3 specs under the Cornerstone as sometimes they list a 23,000 lb and other times a 20,000 rear axle.
Maybe Cruzer can clear this up.

My guess is the Anther will get a steerable tag and a few other small upgrades. That will differentiate it from the Aspire somewhat.

Oftentimes manufacturers downrate axles. On our 2007 MMGT it listed a 20K axle but when I checked with the model numbers came up with higher ratings. After checking with my Spartan rep I found that they typically use heavier axles for durability but rate them at less. I wouldn't be surprised to find my coach has a 23K axle but it's just stated at 20K. I know Foretravel does this also and when I quizzed them I was told it was due to the 34K limit on axle pairs. They have a 14K tag as well and limited it to 20K on the drive.

I don't think that there would be any overloading issues when backing up unless you want to drive to your destination in reverse.

That would cut down on the mileage on the coach. 😊
Mark at one time not long ago Spartan listed the Spicer S23 190 as the rear axle for the Cornerstone. Now they just show it as a 20k axle with no brand or model number. I know the S23 190 is rated at 23k and is a pretty robust axle with a 18 " ring gear.
I think we are getting hung up on legal weight vs rated axle weight in the RV industry. As you know there is nothing illegal about having a 23k rated axle, you are just limited to 20k weight wise legally or 34k in a drive / tag combination.
As you know most OTR tractors run a 40k rated tandem drive but are limited to 34k legal weight. So I don't understand the reasoning for limiting the weight rating to 34k in a tag / drive combination for a RV.

Neither do I but when I asked about that at Foretravel they said their engineers said they needed to downrate it to be legal. I'm not about to research that so I'll take their word for that.
