150 gallon tank does that now make the Aspire on par or better than the Newmar Dutchstar? Any other advantages or disadvantages as compared to the Dutchstar?

There are many advantage and disadvantages of one over the other. Just a few:

Dutchstar has Comfort Drive, Aspire does not.

Aspire has two year warranty. Dutchstar has only one year warranty.

Aspire has bedroom ceiling fan, Dutchstar does not.

There are many other differences. You have to compare them closely and in person to understand them all.

One of the biggies for me is that the Dutch Star also has the emergency exit. Also there is much more of a variety of floor plans with the DS. Both the emergency door and the variety of floor plans come with a cost though. The after discount price still tends to put the Aspire at a more attractive price than the DS.

Fires are always a concern of mine but I believe Newmar has had more of a problem with fires than Entegra. Has there been any reported fires with Entegra?

That's a GREAT QUESTION Dave. It would be awesome if someone from Entegra would jump in and provide an answer.

The rear exit door is a real plus in these things but an included fire suppression system for the engine and generator compartments would ease those concerns too. Overall, I think Entegra is paying attention and making nice upgrades to each model with enough differentiation.
I hope hope my retirement bonus covers the cost of a new CS....ha.

Some of these changes were not on the previous list. Since this is dated 3/27 and some units have already been on the assembly line, do these changes apply to all 2018s or is there a production date when they will start with all these changes?

I don't know of any significant numbers of fires but that also applies to Newmar. Actually, if you have a diesel pusher with a residential fridge your odds of having a fire are less than getting struck by lightning. Eliminating the propane/electric evaporative cooling fridge eliminates the biggest cause of fire. In fact, virtually all in excess of 96% of fires that do occur in a diesel pusher occur while traveling. This can be an electrical fire due to a short in the engine bay harness but most of the time it is a fuel or hydraulic leak that sprays onto a hot turbocharger and ignites. And these fires occur at the rear of the coach in the engine bay so having a bedroom emergency egress door is of little value. I can see it of more value in a lower end or older coach with a non-residential fridge because that can happen while you are sleeping and could cut you off of the front or mid entry door.

However it is still a perceived value by most potential buyers so it may be a good idea as a sales tool for the manufacturer. Ideally it would be on the opposite side of the entry door. That way when unwanted relatives or visitors show up you could bail out the back and not be home when they come calling.
