I’m curious what everyone does, or what is the proper lubrication is to use on the actual slide mechanics. Not the seals, the main support structure that the slide rides in and out on. Thanks in advance.

Use silicone for squeaks and light lube only. You don't want a ton of lube that can only attract dirt.
I asked Don Brubaker that question during a plant tour in Middlebury, and the answer was "they don't get lubricated". No problems with the slides in five years.
