Went to close our slides today and all went well, as normal, except this time after all three other slides closed correctly, the rear PS's (passenger slide's) bottom moved inward yet the top stayed out. The top seemed to be stuck; would not move. We fully opened the PS slide and tried it again with the same result. Then, to change things up, we reopened the DS slide and then the PS slide closed properly. We were plugged into 50-amp shore power and at ride height during the entire process.

Anyone see this before? Possible causes? Is some maintenance needed? We have been traveling for 6 weeks and all slides have worked great.

We have had no issue closing or opening slides other than when we had a major ice jam up on top of the slides.

It is strange your slide worked after closing the opposite slide.

The slide moving on the bottom but the top staying out. To me that means your motor was working.

Yes, the slide motor seemed to be working. You could hear it and the bottom of the slide was moving inward. The top of the slide though was hung up on something.

Were the jacks raised after getting on ride height?

Yes, the jacks were up. Our procedure: Started engine and set to high idle, then allowed air to get above 120 psi, then raised all jacks, then allowed coach to get to ride height before retracting any slides. That is our standard procedure.

Your procedure sounds correct to me. I would be on the phone to Entegra Service. That's what they are there for.

Sounds like the seals or the topper might have been stuck not allowing for the movement. I would spray your seals and mechanisms with lubricant and test rooms again. If the room continues to hang up at the top, something is binding. Usually you can pin the topper to verify it’s not in that area. But the topper is also what helps bring in the top of the room. How does the tension on that topper look? Make sure the fabric hasn’t folded on itself.

Thought our slide issue resolved itself, as the slide worked okay last time we moved. Yet yesterday the vanity slide tilted in again when closing it; i.e., the top stayed open whole the bottom started to close.

Anyone ever have such a problem?

Called Entegra CS who said just push in the slide"s top while closing it. That worked and the slide closed and we got on the road. CS also said to not spray anything around the slides nor do any form of maintenance to the gears, etc along the bottom of the slide.

Would like to know what others use for slide maintenance?
What is the proper way to maintain a slide?
Where yo apply and what products to use?
How often?

I use baby powder once a year on the seals applied with a feather duster to keep the rubber seals from sticking...that is all I have used for 20 years.
