2022 Entegra Odyssey 27U Kitchen Propane Leak

The 2022 Odyssey 27U kitchen and dinette are on a slide. Propane, electrical, water and sink drain come up through the floor and move with the slide.

We left on a long trip with the 27U a few weeks ago. The 27U had around 3800 miles on it. The first night we stopped, I turned on the propane to make dinner and the CO/propane alarm by the stove started screaming. You could smell the gas. We immediately shut off the propane and ventilated the unit. We were on a firm schedule to see family and friends so we made do without propane for the remainder of the trip. After 3 weeks on the road not being able to use propane we got home and I was able to determine what happened.

Attached is a picture of the damaged propane hose. The factory techs routed the hose between the bolts holding the slide frame and mechanisms. Road vibration and slide movement of the propane hose against the exposed bolt threads caused the hose to get damaged.

Any one else seen this problem?

If any of you have a kitchen on a slide you may want to check that you don't have a similar problem.

Fortunately we didn't have a fire, injury or other damage. Just an inconvenient long trip. And a repair I didn't expect to have on a unit with only 3800 miles on it.

Sorry about your discovery and that it happened on a tight trip. I hate to say this and I say it kind of in jest, but "Welcome to RV'ing". If you read the forum most of the posts are of those wanting to know how to fix something, many on their brand new coaches. Most not as dangerous as yours, but many that are stranded with mechanical issues. I had a call from a member yesterday stranded in W,.VA with a DEF issue until Monday taking his Grand-kids on a beach trip.

Thank you for letting other 27U owners be aware to check their hoses in that location. Lets hope it was a freak situation. Hopefully that photo has been sent to Entegra so they are aware of the problem.
