44B Laundry Gymnastics?

We toured a 44B for the first time yesterday. Overall we were impressed. A few things jumped out at us. The washer opening “backwards” over the toilet. And the toilet there in general. It seems difficult or awkward to load/unload. Is that just a perception or is one of those compromises on that floor plan?

We have owned a 44b for a few years now and never found it to be an issue. I suppose the perception of them being over the toilet might be bothersome to some, but they work fine for us.

Same here. It's never been an issue.

I asked my wife who has done hundreds of loads in 3 1/2 years and 42,000 miles and she said it’s not a problem at all. She sets our laundry basket on the top of the toilet (seat down of course) for easy loading.

Most popular floor plan in the Entegra line, so many feel as others, not a problem. Set the laundry basket on the toilet and sort lights from darks.

The comments above are well-stated. We have has 2 B's and have found no issue with the placement of the washer/dryer. However, we recognize this is a personal preference choice.

Cool

Personally, I don't mind that the washer/dryer is over the toilet....

It's all about the width of the 2 that you lose from the rear closet. In my case, that's about all I have for "my" clothes

A dissenting voice here...
well, actually, my wife's opinion....she doesn't mind the location of the laundry center, but stay's po'd that the door on the lower washer is backwards to what it should be. After dutifully studying the problem, I determined that a). she was right, much more user friendly if the door swing was reversed, and b). it cannot be done on our model of whirpool without dismantling the whole rear end of the coach and purchasing/installing a door swing reversing kit, and c). it ain't gonna' happen!!

She is still po'd, but, WTH, keeps her blood pumping!!!

I like the location for use of space "that location would be harder to use for other storage" - just wish the washer door opened the other way but is works and DW does a load every 1 or 2 days.

Just keep the toilet cover down when doing the wash & check of anything dropping down between -

OK this is encouraging. We like the plan overall. There are some nice tweaks in the 2020 like the gadget cupboard to the left of the Whirlpool, not Samsung fridge. The hutch is a bit of a weird set of storage but will be nice and useable. the loss of the space in the half bath is not really missed.

Wife still wants a 35' coach but we can't find the space we "need" in that "little" of space

So we shall keep looking around but keep this plan on the list.

If Entegra is watching this forum, I'd like the TV on a televator, put a window in that space behind and then move the subwoofer there as a default spot. There is a Cornerstone plan that does that. 45Y.

We have a 2014 Aspire 44b. Other than changing the two door swing version to a single door slide by version, we have no complaints.

Not anymore Chuck, according to Entegra the W floor plan is now first followed by the B and the F is hot on the B’s tail.

A “W” floor plan is likely our next coach. What I find hard to understand is that in a 45’ foot coach they cannot find a better place for the W/D besides behind the toilet [emoji15].
