44B Sofa Removal

We are modifying the interior of our 2015 Anthem 44B and will be removing the standard "L" sofa for storage and adding 2 Lambright recliners along with a small storage cabinet.

How difficult is it to remove the sofa, is it attached to the coach, does it separate from the back. Before jumping into the project, I would like to ask the advice from other members that have done the sofa removal.

I dont know this to be fact, but I talked with Mr. Lambright about a similar replacement but a recliner sofa, and he told me that he would disassemble the old sofa before removing it.

I know that Pat Bauer and DieselDiva have ordered sofas from the same people and I would guess can discuss what they were told.

Open the L sofa. You will see how it is bolted through the bottom of the slide, the bolts are very long, the heads are on the under side of the slide. We were able to take the nuts off without holding the head. It comes apart in pieces that will fit through the door, but it will take two people to carry the pieces out. If you wait until you pick up your new furniture they will take your old sofa out and install the new furniture for you. They do a great job and will donate your old sofa to a needy family if you don't want it. You will be very happy.

44B Sofa Removal

As Gary shared we had our sofa replaced with another sofa with two recliners on the end that recline to a full lay back position. I had them remove the original sofa, figured I did not have the tools necessary and figured I would mess it up. It was beyond easy and they had it out in five minutes. They started at the "L" pulling it out and exposing the bolt there. The sofa itself comes out in sections and I mean sitting position and back. I have pictures, not sure I can post them here, never tried. If you want to send me a PM with your email I will be happy to send the pictures I have and see if they will help. I took the pictures so I could show to another couple who were considering replacement as well. They pick up their new sofa in May when they go to Entegra for their PMI. And yes we really like our replacement much better than the painful always falling down L couch that comes standard.

Sorry took so long to join in been on the road traveling.

Mike

I am considering doing the same and would love to see some pictures of the new couches or recliners in place. Any recommendations re the same would be appreciated.
