Update
After 2 5+ hour trips with ACC disabled I have had no faults. I have an 8 for drive on the next leg. We'll see how that plays out.

Also, noted yesterday on the way back from Dallas that my digital dash says "ACC TURNED OFF" in the display as soon as I turn it off with the joy stick.... earlier in this thread I said it said something like "ACC DEFEATED" but it is just "ACC TURNED OFF".

OK, I'm going to show my ignorance. What does ACC, CMS, and ATC stand for? I'm assuming that ATC is not Air Traffic Control (LOL). Maybe it is a good thing that I do not know what those mean because I have not seen those codes. Sorry for the dumb question.

Not dumb at all.
adaptive cruise control
collision mitigation system
automatic traction control

19Aspire44B,
Agree not dumb at all. I just read this threat post 1 to the back and was wondering what ATC, CMS, and ACC meant. I figured ACC was automatic cruise control.
Bruce - Thanks for answering.
Thankful I have not had any faults or issues with these systems. I am not even sure I have ATC.

Hal
I have all those wonderful additions on my 2019 Cornerstone (LOL). NEver needed to try the ATC (I try to stay out of any weather or conditions that I might need to worry about traction). Collision Mitigation System is OK. I may have used it about a week ago for the first time on my way to Dallas. I-635 was in one of those conditions where the traffic was either hauling butt at 70 mph or was stopped dead for no apparent reason. The cars in front of me did that. I saw them slowed but didn't think they were stopped dead, but they were. I climbed on the brakes and was breaking hard to get my momentum stopped. I "think" in retrospect that the CMS might have kicked in to get me fully stopped about a foot behind the car in front of me. Not sure if it stopped me, in that final 50 feet or if I did it all with the brake pedal, but we came close to locking up all the brakes. Whatever it was, CMS or my heavy foot on the brake, but we avoided a rear end situation.
The ACC is simply unnecessary. As Bruce said elsewhere, it slows you too soon and it accelerates you too slow to be of any use IMO. The long setting will "slave" your coach to a truck or car so far in front of you that you have no idea that that car should have any effect on your speed at all. Even the short setting is a pain in the butt. Thankfully, after making ACC unable to be turned off on the 19' (but mysteriously, now mine can be turned off but no one will admit to knowing how to do that). The 18s could be turned off and my understanding that the 20s and 21 can be disabled easily. Some like it..... but I hate it!

Then there are some that do like the ACC. It's not hard to drive properly, lane change before getting on the bumper of a slower moving vehicle in front. Only time I turn it off is in heavy traffic. Must be a lot of people pleased with it or I am sure Entegra would have dropped it like they did the Sanimarin toilets.

Well Chuck, you might be right, but that is NOT what I hear from people who deal with coach repairs. At Spartan, I was told that a lot of owners dislike ACC. They modified the ACC operation (so that it could be turned off) on their chassis for one reason..... Many owners hated it. I'm not saying all owners and you may be one of those guys that likes your coach operation to be controlled by others on the road, and if you like it, that is great. However, my Spartan tech told me that he has lots of requests to turn it off, but the position of the company (Spartan) is that once they, or a retail manufacturer decided that they are going to add it, then there is no chance that it is going to be taken off due to the legal liability of removing a "safety" system. I have discussed ACC with dealers of Entegra coaches and they tell me that it was a frequent request by owners to have it removed and I am told that owners either like it, or hate it.... there is no "in between".
And back to my original point..... owners hated it so much that they added the capability of turning it off. They started making it mandatory with no way to defeat the system's operation, but have now made the ability to turn off ACC a part of every coach. They wouldn't have done that if everyone loved the system. So, now we are where we should have been right from the start. I resent having to pay for a system and a capability that I would not choose for myself if I had to pay additional money to have my coach equipped with ACC but at least, now we are where we should have been right from the start.... if you want it, great, its there. If you dont want it, that is also great and you can make it go away. To each their own.
I say this with seriousness..... if I could not turn ACC off on my coach, I would have sold my coach or traded it in for a coach that didn't have ACC. Its wasn't an irritation.... it was a deal breaker for me. When I hate driving something, then I'm not going to own it for very long.... bye bye.
Gary

Gary, you have been whining and crying about the ACC since the day you purchased your coach. Entegra made it where you can turn it off for those that don't like it. Get over it. Many people it fits they driving style just fine.

And you have been swearing that it the best thing since sliced bread. Take your own advice and get over it. Just because you like it, doesnt mean that everyone likes it, but you dont seem able to deal with that fact either.
I've been reading about whining about 2014 rear ends and 2019 Valor TPMS system's limitations which gets a little old also.

For the record I love the acc on the 21. It works so much better then what I have had on past coaches. I really can’t think of a complaint.
