Accent lighting

Is anyone else having issues with the under counter accent lighting? All of mine have sections that do not light. I can fiddle with it a bit and they come on. I have replace several strips with factory supplied parts but the same thing happens. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance for your help.

Tony, are you referring to the rope lights? I have the same problem with all of mine, even the entertainment center. PDI in a couple of weeks. After that, when they act up again, I will replace them with warm white LED strip lights with the same dimmers I used outside.

We had that problem with the 13 Aspire. Take out the lower right drawer in the kitchen and you can replug the strip back into the lead. I took mine out completely and plugged back it in and restrung thru the hangers no more problems. When they were installed they stretched the lights too far toward the front of the coach. Easy fix.

Where do you intend to get power for them?

I haven't looked yet, but there is power to the current rope light, so that would be my starting point. If the rope lights are 110v, then I'll add a transformer. I am bring the MH home tomorrow and will look at the power connections.

Brobox, that's a great idea. They are 12 volts so no issues there. I have replace some already but they just seem to have sections that lose connection so some on some off.

I can't verify, as my lights are mostly working (lights under fireplace 1/2 dead). P.J. At Entegra said on the 2014 the rope lights are 110v but changed to 12v in 2015.

Just brought the MH home today, so I will check tomorrow. If I have any question I will see PJ next week and we will find out how to run LED lights in place of the sometimes working rope lights.

These are LED lights without a transformer. They also operate from the wall switch which is fed from the fuse panel in the bath via the controller under the rear bed. Cannot imagine them being 120 volt. They may have switched prior to my September 2013 build. Everything on the wall switch panel is 12 volt.

Tony, I believe you are correct. I just removed the bottom drawer to get to the wiring and it sure looks to be 12v wiring. I didn't pull everything apart to get to the connections as there is a plastic cover protecting the wires from getting caught in the drawer. It looks to be an easy LED strip light change over from what I could see. I wonder if mine can be replaced at the PDI if they say the rope lights are bad?

P.J. Might have had the models mixed up. My 2013 Aspire was definitely 110v.

Couldn't stand it any longer and pulled it all apart. 14.1v with a volt meter. The light wires are connected with 3M splicers making change over to LED strip lights a piece of cake. There is a plastic panel under the drawer held on with two screws..... the connections are under that panel.

If LED's are good enough for the newer models, they will work fine on a Classics. One suggestion....I am now using the waterproof LED's on everything. They have a nice coating on them to protect the LED lights which I have found can tear easy. They are only a dollar a roll more and well worth it.

I just checked and the rope lights are not on wall dimmers. The LED's would have to be low lumins or an inline dimmer added

I have a new piece of rope lights sent to me from customer service and have had others replaced. They don't seem to last long before sections go out. I agree with Brobox, that the weatherproof LEDs are the way to go. I have them under my rig for accent for over a year now and absolutely no problems. I will replace the inside lighting with them. They are cheap and work great. If they are to bright I will add a dimmer.

Accent lighting

As a side note, I just received my LED strips that I plan to add to my pantry. They are about a foot long. Found a couple of refrigerator door switches that I will add so the lights come on automatically when the door is open. Brobox, I believe this was your idea so thanks. I'll install when I get this cast off my leg.
