I have a bottle of the PDQ and have been trying to find more. Alcoa no longer lists it although something like it is listed in the european Alcoa site.

When I had my wheel acid washed by a pro, that is exactly what happens.... the wheels turn white. At that point, he applied polish and polished the heck out of them. No sealer but the shine has lasted over a year at this point. When I go out west this winter, I will get them done again.

Gary

That's what the Alcoa product did without much effort. The shine amazing and the sealant preserved the shine for a long time. Too bad it isn't available anymore.

We need to start a list of places that does a good job of polishing wheels like Gary mentioned above. Would come in handy when on the road!!

Sorry - senior moment - the product is actually Autosol Metal Polish. This time the name is right because I went and looked.

There is a product called Sharkhide that you can coat after you have them polished and it is supposed to last a long time. Just haven't had the guts to try it. My wheels were pitted as well and Spartan ordered replacements thru the supplier and I received new wheels.

Amazon has a number of 1 and 3 star reviews claiming it doesn't work as shown but quite a few 5 stars. Has anybody on this forum actually tried it?

I am currently using the Purple and it is working well. Will the next person that uses it feel the same, that I cannot answer. Yesterday was the first I had put any time in with it and I was satisfied. One of the easier polishes I have worked with.
Just checked Amazon 75% 5 star, 2% 1 and 2 star. I think those were looking for a spray and shine.

Ha - there's an oxymoron for you. Motivated teenager.

I did not like the purple stuff at first. But now that my son does the job, it's not so bad.
