rv has 200watt ,two hundred watt panels I have ordered a 6 one hundred watt panels and 60 amp mttp controller is this a hard install! ps I have not picked up rv get in two weeks

It can be tricky to find spots on the roof to mount 6 - 100W panels and still avoid shading from the A/C’s, awning rails, or vents. Mounting them off the roof attached to one awning rail or the other may work best. What are your plans for the present two panels, leave as is or integrate with the new ones? Difficulty will be in finding a way down from roof to where you will mount the MPPT controller which should be near the batteries at the rear of the basement.

McJake,i'm curious as to what brand panels & other equipment you ordered? I'm looking into adding solar capacity to my existing 100 watt 20 year old system. We do a lot of Boondocking with our 20 year old 40' DP when we travel. Thank you in advance. Mike

I have 6 100 watt panels and a 60 watt mppt controller in the garage, waiting for it too cool off enough to go on the roof.

My plan is to run aluminum channels from awning box to awning box, with a single support down to the roof in the centers, and attach the panels to them.

The math shows I can connect the 6 panels in 2 series strings and use the 2 pairs of existing wires down to the basement. This arrangement won't exceed the current limits of the factory wiring, nor will it exceed the voltage limits of my MPPT controller.

We'll see how it works out, as I haven't actually done it yet.
