Rubicon. Would the Lifeline battery be the GPL4CT?

RibiconTrail, recently been there.
Good point. I changed my 2016 Aspire wet cells to AGM Lifelines couple of months ago. I knew I had to reprogram for AGM's so got out the manual and prepared for a learning experience. To my surprise first Magnum AGM instruction, "for Lifeline set to 1". I spent another hour reading everything thinking "can't be that easy, I must be doing something wrong." Lifelines are the way to go and I see 2017 Entegra's are going to the Lifeline Tall GPL-L16T
If I were Bill and considering replacing my Anthem batteries I woul strongly consider this option.
AGM Lifeline Battery Chart
volt amp hr size l size w size h wt
GPL-4CT 6 220 10.28 7.06 9.92 66 lb
GPL-6CT 6 300 10.28 7.06 13.02 90 lb
GPL-L16 6 400 11.64 8.95 15.73 119 lb
My understanding, The Anthem has 8 ea 207 amp hr batteries for a total of 850 amp hr's and are the same physical size as the GPL-4CT Lifeline.
#2 is my first choice. On my Aspire I went with 4ea GPL-6CT's for 600 ah
1. replace with 8 GPL-4CT's for a total of 800 amp hr's. tray space Ok
2. replace with 6 GPL-6CT's for a total of 900 amp hr's. space likely ok ?
3. replace with 4 GPL-Li6T's for a total of 800 amp hr's. space likely ok if the height is ok.
2017 Anthem & CS specs say 4 GPL-L16T 800 ah, Aspire 2 GPL-L16 400 ah.
I changed to 4 GPL-6CT's for 600 ah's.
Just a thought'
Pat

Yes, that's correct.
Thanks for the input, FreshAir. Unfortunately, the GPL-6CT's are too tall...I actually was looking at 8 of them, but they wouldn't fit.

We have the Xantrex Freedom SW 3000, no profile for the Lifeline, just standard AGM, so I'll have to set up a custom profile.

So does one change the settings at the inverter in basement or is it done at controls over the door?

At the control over the door. I can take you through EC-30 (Generator controller) and Magnum (inverter controller) and make sure they are both correct.

I have a xantrex at my solar powered cabin. It works very well, but is not as versatile as the magnum. I had to have the factory set up a custom profile, as the SCP on mine would not allow custom profiles to be set. The factory apparently plugged into the charger/inverter and using software built the custom profile.

I'm glad this subject came up as I decided to check my Magnum setup settings this morning as I hadn't really checked it closely since changing to AGM Lifelines a few months ago. My battery type was wrong as was my absorption rate setting. I must of messed it up sometime while quickly scanning the Magnum settings. Seems like I have a lot of operator error's lately which may be attributed to having a lot of birthdays?
It's probably a good idea to be acquainted with the Magnum setup settings and carefully check them occasionally.

Just to be sure, you realize that the AGM1 profile is designed for Lifelines?
BTW, the lifelines are only rated for a few amp hours more than the Discoverys, but I'm getting 30% more time from them on average...love them. This is how it's supposed to work!

Yep I know. When I installed the Lifelines I set battery type to AGM 1 . I have rechecked it a few times and it was always 1. Checked today and it was 2? I am happy I selected Lifelines, only wish I had room for two more to bring it up to 800 amps. I've been thinking, there may be a way.

What was the main reason for changing out your batteries so soon?

I had two reasons.
1. The Aspire comes with four 200 amp wet cell batteries for a total of 400 amps. I believe this is under powered for a coach equipped with a residential fridge and other than propane heat is an all electric coach and folks that like to do some boon docking.
2. preferred the AGM's over wet cells but only because of battery maintenance. I'm getting lazy. Lazier.
This was planned before buying.

I have to agree with your statement RT. I have not received the charge time that I thought I would get with 8 AGM batteries as installed. Come to find out my chargers were not programmed correctly. I am looking forward to the next trip to try the batteries with a full charge, but they still might not be what the Lifelines are.
