Air brake noise

New to us coach - We have an odd sound from the air brakes after taking my foot off the brake. Sounds like a goose. Doesn’t matter if I’m at a full stop or just slowing down. As soon as I take my foot off the brake I get a sqawk.

Has the noise changed from what it used to be ?

Or is this a new to you coach ?

New to us coach. Drove home today and immediately noticed the sound. Didn’t occur on our last coach thus why I’m concerned.

Ok , I'd have to say ; and without seeing air brake diagrams for both coaches , I can't be sure ; that the location on your new RV, of a front , air brake Quick Release Valve, is different than your last coach and the QRV was located where the sound was less noticeable .

Without actually hearing your noise , from your description , it's not much different than mine .
Might even be a different part manufacturer, than your last coach.

Our coach used to do the same thing, we called it our clown horn. It did not effect the braking at all, but was irritating. I put on a new quick release valve and the problem has been gone ever since.

Tom, our 2010 Tiffin Allegro Bus (Tiffin PowerGlide chassis) did that too. Not all the time, but a majority of the time. Seems like Kirk Ault and his crew out at the Freightliner service center in Tolleson finally got rid of it, but I can't recall for sure if it was them or maybe the guys in the Red Bay chassis shop. And I can't recall exactly what the fix was. By the time the noise was finally eliminated, I was pretty much used to it.

In any case it isn't anything to worry about, other than being annoying. I'd talk with Chris Weaver at Silverleaf and see if he knows how to eliminate the noise. If not, try Kirk Ault at Freightliner, Tom Kszepka at Massey Diesel, or the guys at East Valley RV Specialists.
