Air compressor or air hose
Would like to know what our fellow travelers are doing. Either using the air hose to partially inflate our big tires and then make our way to a source of air. Or carry an air compressor to fully inflate the tire. This will take a while to do it.
Thanks for your input in advance

Less than a year in my coach and still not full-timing. There are a lot of things that are higher on the list than an air compressor. But an air hose was one of the first things I did get for it.
I also got the TST tire monitor, so I can tell if I need to use the onboard air or can get to another source.

We carry a 150# pancake air compressor. Makes it easy and works on bikes etc.

Ditto for me. Also carry a few air tools that I could not part with when I started full timing.

C3 for us, only $100 at Sears and will take a tire from 100-125 in about 5 minutes or less. Puts out 2.9 SCF at 90 psi.

Wouldn't travel without the ability air up my tires independently of an outside source.

If you need to partially inflate your tires, enough to move the MH, you need to go to a tire repair shop.
It is also detrimental to the tires to run them 20% lower than recomended. Goodyear recommends a dismounted inspection.
3 major tire manufactures state that their tires "could" loose 1 to 2 lbs a month.
If your tires drop more than that, get them checked.
Google your brand of tires and see what they say in the tire care section.

I prefer the on-board air but that's just my opinion. For one thing, it's filtered and dry because it runs through your air dryer which is better for your tires. It also has a decent amount of CFM. The only caveat is that it's tough to get those last 10-15 PSI into the steer tires if you need to reach 120 PSI. To fix that I added an air booster to raise the pressure. It's much smaller than an air compressor so it doesn't intrude on my cargo space. If the engine is dead it won't make air of course but in that case that would be the least of my problems and having air won't help very much. There's always the compressor on our Jeep's Warn Powerplant winch if need be.

The compressor is internal on the cummins motor.

I raised the engine air compressor shut off to 135 psi. Works just fine.
