Air Force One Brake System

Has anyone installed the AFO braking system on a 2017 Anthem, where the air tanks are at the back of the coach? If so, I'm interested in where you mounted the air connection assembly. Thanks!

I have the M&G braking system, but the ping tank for air is the same kit. Our tank in mounted (as you face the back of the coach) on the left side of the engine compartment.

Installed AF1 on our 2016 Anthem, I assume 2017 is same regarding this installation.
Photo of toad connection and tank mounting as I installed on ours.

Yes, the 2017 looks about the same. I do like the air gauge on Dave and Laura's.

Steve, be nice to get some feedback on your install, including the Jeep! I'm told the coach is the easiest part of the job!

Although on a classic, that is where my ping tank is mounted also. The tech drilled a hole in the metal angle iron or iron bar that holds up the air filter cleaner indicator and one end of the air filter. It is nice there and easy to see and ensure all connections are good. My air connections are mounted on the fiberglass of the end cap between the power connector and shaft of the hitch receiver.

Mark, I'll give feedback and try to provide photos as well. I'm ordering the system tomorrow, so will begin the process in the near future. I'll probably use some time during the holidays, when I'm not chukar hunting, to do the install. I put some wood blocks under my rear leveling jacks this evening and located the tag axle relay valve, where I'll be tying into the supply and metered air. Trusting the jacks will hold while I'm crawling under the coach.

I'm surprised a drain valve is not provided for the ping tank. I think any air tank should have a moisture/ water drain valve. I have installed the ping tank on both the Entegra we have owned and put a drain valve on each. Never have got much moisture from them but you never know when something up stream will go wrong and get a bunch moisture in the ping tank. A drain valve will cost less than 10 dollars. Just a part of PM.

Thank you. Looking forward to seeing your install Steve. Have a great Holiday!

Mimsie. We had the AFO system on our 2012 and it is now installed on our 2017 Anthem. I don't know how this was installed (i have not a clue about this stuff) but if you let me know what you want to see (i.e. where to point the camera) I will take pics.

Hi Bill:

Thanks so much for the offer! This is the relay valve coming off my tag axel. I'll be tapping into the lower green line, which is the air supply line. I would be interested in seeing where they tapped into your line, either closer to the relay valve or the air tank. It's pretty tight under there, so taking pictures can be challenging. I'm planning on mounting the air tank on the left side of the engine compartment as others have previously showed. Is that where your tank is mounted? Thanks again Bill.

Well I don't know if this is any help but it seems to me my air line runs from the rear to somewhere in this area which (if I have the correct item shot) is between the tax and rear axles. I am parked at an RV park and have no supports so I am reluctant to get in under and trace the line fully.
