Bob, I see you found the second bolt head I couldn't see. I hope the new horns will have the same bolt pattern. The photo I found online looks different.

The outside bolt was covered by several wire looms. I could feel it more than see it. If the replacement horn has the same bolt pattern I will try and put it back to where it was, otherwise I will relocated it to an easier to access location.

I used my dual Hadley "bongo" air horns on my Dynasty most often to let the bozo who was on the "acceleration" ramp at 30 miles an hour and assumed he/she was going to come out into my lane and give me the opportunity to hit the air brakes hard to let them "in" know that I had no intention of touching the brakes. Always seemed to wake them up sufficiently and worked real well!.

I see what you mean - it is tough to tell for sure, the stock horn has its mounting plate perpendicular to the base of the horn, the H00640R replacement mounting bracket looks parallel. If so, I may need to fabricate a bracket.

I was thinking the same thing and anxious for you to get yours to see how they do mount. Trying to work in the area of the original horn will be challenging if adaptions have to be made, for sure. Bolt and play...no problem.

Chuck - don't think it will be a problem at all.
Here's a picture of the area. The original horn was mounted behind the wire looms at the bottom of the picture. The "roof" of the compartment looks to be 5/8 plywood and there's a lot of room if the mounting holes for the horn are parallel to the base.

The 2013 Anthem used to have two horns under the front cap.

Good to know, your area is a lot cleaner than mine. I think every wiring loom for the front crosses my horn area. I even have wires zip tied to the horn.

Horn Upgraded

Got 'er done.

Drilling through the firewall one-handed (left) is a challenge. I used angle brackets attached to the horn to mount it.

The new horn is much better; heavy metal rather than plastic like the stock horn.

I could not figure out how to attach an .mp3 file. If you want to hear it, go here

Nice job on the mount Bob. The MP3 still sounded clowny Maybe I need new speakers.

Are you satisfied with the sound improvement?

Thanks for taking the time to post the nice photos and sound file. You are a gentleman and a scholar.

I recorded off my cell phone and converted the file.

Vast improvement - I'd prefer a little deeper tone, but the volume is great.
