AirXcell Thermostat Default Setting
The AirXcell is designed so if you set the desired temperature greater than +4 degrees higher than the actual room temperature it will will default to Aqua Hot heat. When we are in temperature's around 45-50 degree I prefer to use the heat pumps. The only way to do that is to set the desired temperature at no greater than 2 degrees above the the room temperature. I have to constantly move the desired temperature setting up in increments until I achieve the actual desired room temperature to avoid defaulting to Aqua Hot.
When I called AirXcell they told me they changed their thermostat to default to Aqua Hot because people were complaining. They went to bed with the heat pumps on and woke-up to a cold coach because during the night the temperature fell causing the heat pumps not to product heat. In my opinion the design engineers should have put a default switch on the thermostat and not programed into the circuit.
Has anyone found a way to disable the default setting in the thermostat? Anyone know of a replacement thermostat that will work without this default?
